No. Coutts blathering about dolphins being "inherently aware of boats around them” is talking bollox. They’re small dolphins living in turbid low visibility water and cannot see boat foils slicing through the water toward them at 100km/h. And sound refraction near the surface inhibits their hearing. Ask any marine biologist.

Whale. The Australian Climate Science Coalition is biased, prejudiced and not worth reading. It is a climate change skeptics website created by the the Australian Environment Foundation, which itself is a spin-off group created by the right wing, corporate funded think tank, the Institute of Public Affairs. It's a site set up specifically to persuade, not to present science. Do better.

Really? So it would be fair to say you think it's good for government to own and operate money-losing operations so long as there's a social value in doing so. In fact, you're saying Labour was on the right track when it bought large areas of South Island high country a couple of years ago, and you will attack any rightist council that attempts to sell off libraries, and you think toll roads are a bad idea.

Hmmmmm... not a 'real union'. It's a shame the Employment Relations Bill was watered down before becoming law in 2000. Even so, NZ workers are fortunate to have a law that says their representative bodies must be independent of the employer, democratic, and an incorporated society. http://www.ers.dol.govt.nz/.... This, despite the lobbying of the Business Round Table, EMA, and other vested interests.

Back to the claim that '30,000' scientists regard the climate change meme as a hoax. What fool believes this crap? Of course, the story itself is bollocks.
(1) it's a petition constructed by a mentally incompetent one-man band 'institute'
(2) the basis of the petition is proven to have been fraudulent
(3) the petition has fake names on it -- like, Hawkeye Pearce, Ginger Spice and Michael J Fox
(4) The credentials of the signers were not checked (eg, somebody calling themselves Cameron Slater sould easily just tick a box declaring that they had PhD)

You say he has told the media that he has resigned, but is that true? Where's the quote? I've looked and can't find it. I can find plenty of reporting that he has resigned, but that's not the same as a verbatim quote of him saying it.

Exactly. But the significance is not in their knowledge of what might be found out or that it might damage National. They could easily handle that with the usual crisis management techniques, weather the storm, stand down a minor minister or reprimand a backbencher. No. They've decided that the information is SO DAMAGING that a senior minister (or several) might, as a result of the information, have no option but to resign.

Remind me again: who prevailed upon John Key not to approve a Commission of Inquiry?
