Grandmothers have a way of touching our lives in many ways. Yes, they do live on in the things they taught us. I too still recall the teachings of my grandmother all the time. Great article.

I too have seen this bring a great fishing day to an abrupt end, and a trip to the hospital. I've also seen some nasty infections from getting hooked. Good advice and who knows, it may keep you fishig for the rest of the day, I do think a trip to the doctor and a round of medication to ward off any infection.

Yes I have, 43 years now. I can tell you it is humor and communications. Talk to one another, listen to each other, help and advise one another. I see so many married couples who don't talk, I think that would get so boring after a while. Humor, keep one another laughing. Make your spouce your best friend and it will last forever.

Fear today is the "norm" for many people. The trust of the government is rapidly falling and the public has less and less confidence in our banks. Gold and Silver is good advice. The best advice is getting your assests out of reach of the Fed.

As we move forward in this economic storm, and as it get's worse, we will more and more of these stories. In my opinion we will continue seeing economic tightening fromt he top down but we are also beginning to see belt tightening from the bottom up. A sign things are not getting better.

Once again I think it is a matter of government that has put a price on everything and knows the value of nothing. Why in the world would you not want to fly the flags of your history? The symbols of what sets us apart from other communities? Can we legislate a change in history or perhaps conceal a part of history. Businesses are starving and I think anything that creates a little notice and excitement should be welcomed by our elected officials. I say fly the flags.

Great article that explains the facts. I believe it is going to take more then five years to see a solid recovery. Every segment of our economy continues to falter, I guess with the exception of Wall Street. History will write about us and what we are experiencing right now.

I over heard an interesting statement the other day concerning credit cards. The government seems hell bent on getting into everything, why not credit cards. Government issued cards with set interest rates, what interest they receive would be better then what they are receiving now. I think the best thing to do is cut up all credit cards.

Interesting article and yes I did know that deer can bite. As a child I was bitten by a deer at the Jacksonville zoo. Back then you just walked up to a fence and there was the animal. I stuck my finger in a guess what, I learned they do bite.

I agree, my only thought was with what we are being told on a daily basis, things are good, things are recovering. I think this is one of the huge problems with Washington today, people can't believe what they hear. People only want to feel that their government is telling them the truth, nothing more , nothing less, just the truth. People aren't as stupid as Washington thinks they are. Regardless if you approve of the tea party movement or not, I think it shows just how mad people are becoming in this country.

I think that is great and I, like you, wish more businesses understood the power that is available to them, the Pope get's it. I have heard of some churches though who have banned computers because there is too much porn available. These are the simple minds that will not make it in the long run. Times do change and if one is to survive, then one must change with the times.

I agree, music has always been a big part of our religion. The only point I am making is how quickly attitudes changed when it meant bringing more people into the church. What was once taboo is now strongly accepted. I think it is good, I am not condeming the move, I am only making a point as to how quickly things change.

Major income for the record industry, yes. But more importantly it was a revival for the churches. They were loosing a whole generation and had to have ways and means to bring them back, rock music has done the job. Still amazing at what was voodoo once is now the spiritual thing to do. Oh well, I guess time does have a way of changing things.
