water over the faces of terrorists to save American Lives.

He wants to close Gitmo, and was completely wrong in the past about Kosovo and the Gulf War.

McCain never held any serious CEO experience, or personal responsibility for placing others in harms way, then spent much of the primary demeaning a Sec. of Defense who shared this difficult Getting Bad Military Advice

Well, the problem remains, this is the Democrat Primary.

Some are already jumping to the General, but we aren't there just yet.

Democrats agree with Obama's perception, expression, conviction. They were never comfortable with the Clinton 'LIE' which pretended to have a more centrist view.

The problem is, when we Conservatives attempt to judge the Liberal Conviction from our own viewpoint, while judging their political race.

Perhaps the most concerning, is the POST WW2 - CHURCHILL FACTOR play in the US Electorate for 2008.

What do I mean?

Having the Bush Administration do such an incredible job since 9-11, it is possible Americans feel the GWOT is no longer a threat and or relevant.

Ever hear of the term, "working yourself out of a job" ?

Churchill was immediately, regretfully, tossed by the British after the Victory in WW2.

McCain's lack of articulate ability to convince the American Public the need to fight the GWOT in an aggressive manner, or on the only major difference between his Liberal nature and the Obama Candidacy in National Defense and the GWOT, may be very problematic.

Sadly, the Nation already elected a very anti-Military, ignorant on Defense Candidate, named Bill Clinton, after it looked like the Cold War was finished.

Watch for the old 'talk to - engage the World' rhetoric, and remove 'our Military out of harm's way' conjecture...

In 2008, vs. the aged Keating 5 Member, it might just be a regretful winner.

Re: Novak: Pawlenty Not Popular Among GOP Governors

Interesting...

But again, who is shorter, or not as tall as the Senator?

He seems to have a bit of a Napoleonic Complex...

Did you see the latest from Mr. Will?

"...Although his campaign is run by lobbyists; and although his dealings with lobbyists have generated what he, when judging the behavior of others, calls corrupt appearances; and although he has profited from his manipulation of the taxpayer-funding system that is celebrated by reformers -- still, he probably is innocent of insincerity. Such is his towering moral vanity, he seems sincerely to consider it theoretically impossible for him to commit the offenses of appearances that he incessantly ascribes to others.

Such certitude is, however, not merely an unattractive trait. It has been regretful. And his expression about Sec. Rumsfeld was deeply irresponsible, for personal political gain.

John McCain is the opposite, in a realm of the Public wanting something new, the establishment, and some very liberal voters in NH, in the NY Times, the Globe, the Register, etc., pushed for saving the old Senator of 24 years.

The GOP side played it safe again, to their own detriment. Accepting a very unattractive candidate.

Re: Heading Right Radio: Byron York

Now I am just kidding around here, being it is getting close to old St. Paddy's Day.

But if Mr. Pawlenty or Mr. Sandford are taller than Senator McCain, there could be a problem.

The Napoleonic thing is never easy to overcome...

How tall is Lindsey Graham?

Re: A Farewell To BlogTalkRadio

I like 'The Ed Morrissey Show"...

Congratulations !

Re: The Road Goes Ever On

This is a sad day...

I have enjoyed CQ for so many years now...

Sometime after 9-11, sent via Powerline so long ago.

Time flies...

I am thrilled for the Captain's success and feel Hot Air is lucky to have the MIGHTY EM.

But still, the CQ is a brand unto it's own.

Great sailing...

Congratulations.

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

too bad JOHN MCCAIN isn't offering a FREE MARKET solution...

he is peddling Gasoline Taxation and Liberal Regulations.

mindless...

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

SO WHY didn't McCain try to limit spending after 9-11?

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

LOL !

ahhh, again with the insults, when you complain about someone taking 'cheap shots' ???

you sound like a child, that wants to belittle others, who cannot handle it when someone calls you on it.

John McCain is part of the problem.
Cleared?

That sounds like a Democrat, saying Bill Clinton was acquitted by the Senate.

Corruption allegations

Gray testified that several U.S. senators had approached him and requested that he ease off on the Lincoln investigation. It came out that these senators had been beneficiaries of $1.3 million (collective total) in campaign contributions from Keating. Lincoln Savings and Loan's collapse is said to have cost taxpayers $3.4 billion [1].

This allegation set off a series of investigations by the California government, the United States Department of Justice, and the Senate Ethics Committee. The ethics committee's investigation focused on five senators: Alan Cranston (D-CA); Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ); John Glenn (D-OH); John McCain (R-AZ); and Donald W. Riegle, Jr. (D-MI), who became known as the "Keating Five".

[edit] Conclusion

After months of testimony revealed that all five senators acted improperly to differing degrees, the senators maintained they were following the status quo of campaign funding practices. In August 1991, the committee concluded that Cranston's, DeConcini's, and Riegle's conduct constituted substantial interference with the FHLBB's enforcement efforts and that they had interfered at the behest of Charles Keating. The Ethics Committee concluded that Glenn's and McCain's involvement in the scheme was minimal.[1] The committee recommended censure for Cranston and criticized the other four for "questionable conduct."

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

LOL !

who is just as bad...

except, the Democrat hasn't been in Washington for 3 Decades...

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

When did I throw you under a bus?

You quickly called me an 'idiot', a 'loser', a 'plant', etc...
Your juvenile expression was quite demeaning.
When I never even commented to you.
You seem to have tunnel vision.

But I could care less...

It is your right.

John McCain is not responsible for spending of the US CONGRESS?

That is laughable.

John McCain has offered a gas cap tax, that is liberal.
He opposes pouring water over the faces of terrorists, to save American LIVES.

That is truly liberal...

Sorry...

He is very misguided, and remains part of the problem.

McCain will only make matters worse.

And the misguided offering from the Democrats, doesn't change that regretful reality.

You seem eager to offer your fine MILITARY involvement...

That is wonderful.

Never assume others here, are NOT equally serving their fine Nation, in the MIGHTY ARMED SERVICES.

And need NOT boast about their Service.

It is, and will never be, an excuse or justification for one's expression.

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

Insane?

Like trying to elect a Beltway insider of 3 Decades, a corrupt Keating 5 Member, when Congress is at an all time historic approval low?

Re: Can Obama Carry The Red?

I am not sulking TERRYE!

I will always provide the most honest conceptions about my humble opinion in politics and have for decades now.

I have been part of many losing elections, and many winning ones...

I hope I am wrong about Senator McCain, but the 71 Year old Beltway Insider is a very weak Candidate, and is going to make matters far worse.

His personal ambition has already divided the Conservative Support.

He could have run a Campaign to be proud of, but spend much of the time demeaning Sec. In contrast, the last budget enacted during the Clinton/Gore administration increased that category of spending by a staggering 15%. President Bush has pressed hard to keep that spending under control--and this year's increase will actually be lower than the rate of inflation for the third year in a row.

It's worth noting, as well, that President Bush has committed significant resources to rebuilding our military after the draw-downs of the 1990s. In addition, this new era has also demanded far larger support for intelligence, law enforcement and homeland security. Our administration has met those urgent priorities. Yet we've also managed to bring this year's projected deficit down to 1.5% of GDP--well below its historical average over the past four decades.
