If Trump gets elected president, the Federal tax credit for EVs is likely to be discontinued. Those considering the purchase of an EV are advised to do so while the tax credit is still available.

The problem of financially stressed seniors is expected to grow worse in the years ahead as fewer workers are covered by defined benefit plans and those who aren't fail to save adequately for their retirement. Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans want to “reform” (i.e., cut drastically and/or privatize) Social Security at the very time benefits need to be expanded.

We love our new Outback 3.6R. It's cool to watch the tachometer remain steady at around 1,100 RPM while the car accelerates from the stoplight to 35 MPH. Of course, the CVT makes it possible for the engine to operate at its optimal speed for both performance and economy in any given situation.

My wife and I have Galaxy Nexus phones and will be out of contract in five days. We have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. We visited a T-Mobile store today, and I was attracted to the LG Nexus 5 phone, while my wife liked the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. There's nothing wrong with our Galaxy Nexus phones; we've solved the battery problem by getting larger batteries, along with spares we can charge and carry along with us (they're easy to change). Tomorrow I'm going to call Verizon and try to negotiate a better deal; if I'm not successful we'll switch to T-Mobile, whose service is equal to Verizon's in my area, according to Consumer Reports.

We no longer have a draft. That's the problem. Minorities are overrepresented in our armed forces. Bring back the draft and force rich, white Republican kids to serve in the military. Bet we'd have fewer wars.
