Actuallty, there IS scientific proof that wearing masks, social distancing and good hygene DOES help stop the spread of Covid. The failure of people like FAIR to make a small sacrifice for a short time for long term gain is the reason we continue to lose over 1000 people a day to Covid. And more and more research on survivors show long term health impacts. You're why we can't have nice things.

I've been protesting and fighting for sensible gun laws for over 20 years. I protested against the war in Viet Nam too. The youth of this country ended that war; I'm completely behind this movement too. Enough. And to krock and the others posting here, remember, they are all going to vote soon. And there are more of them then there are of you. A LOT MORE.

I agree with southendfamily. We were lucky enough to have 2 deer last year in Upper Mercerdale Park. How they made it from the south end in one piece I'll never know, but waking up in the morning to them grazing in my yard was a wonderful thing. We all need to slow down and enjoy our paradise.

The kids on Mercer Island have no place to go to be, well, kids. It's been an issue for a long time. Instead of building a bowling alley or teen hall we built appartments and condo's. And they aren't just drinking in the NE QFC; see the story about the kids in the apartment drinking and lobbing beer cans, yet there apparently was an adult present and he refused to allow police to enter. Parents condone the behavior and the ones that don't, well, their kids are in the QFC lot. As for the Noah's situation, my daughter used to pick up the trash whenever we were there. She was raised to leave a place better than the way you found it. Clearly not everyone was....

Mr. Glass, perhaps you need to arrive in the 21st century. There's no reason why paper and toner should be used in this day and age anymore. Other districst, like Seattle, have been doing this for years. Ask them how it works. It's saved thousands of dollars in printing costs, not to mention the environmental impacts. Or have a kid use it as their culminating project. There are lots of ways to solve this 'problem' but doing nothing is just ridculous.

What's ironic about the house in question is that the home that was there was just fine. Not a mansion, mind you, but very nice and didn't block the view of the house behind it, which it now does. It even had a year, somehting the new home doesn't have. When will people stop building these mini- or real mansions and be happy with a nice home in a nice neighborhood?

Considering Mercer Island's proximity to the BellevueI headquarters of T-Mobile, I wonder how many employees and customers not only live on Mercer Island but also transit through here every day. T-Mobile is a local employer in the fight of their life with other wireless carriers. Can we please be respectful and keep the playing field at least level?

I took my daughter on a wonderful trip to Paris this year, and yes, it was expensive, and yes, I probably could have spent that money here in the US. But I'll probably never have the opportunity to do it in the future, with her going to college next year. She saw things and had experiences that she'd never get here in the US. There are significant reminders of a War fought on French soil which are very visible and even the French acknowledge readily and openly. While we all appreciate your son's contributions, I offer that this was a path he chose. We all make choices. We all live with them. The servants you lambasted in your letter have explained who spent what funds. I think a nice apology is in order.

Rinnie they weren't caught, they were caught on tape. I wonder what the parents of three teen boys who were not asleep in their beds will do? Will they connect the dots and urge their children to do the correct thing and turn themselves in? What kind of hate is in their lives that would lead them to do these terrible acts? How have we come to this point? Or are there those who are grateful we don't have a Mosque on the rock?

I agree. There are busses, they should run more often and perhaps expand park n ride lots at the churches along Island Crest.

We have busses that run from South to North and most times of the day they are empty. Why don't more people use that?

Instead of using plastic at all, has the school and Albertsons looked into the compostable containers being used in Seattle take-out now? They go right into the yard-waste and are very clean to eat from. I'm just curious why we still think that plastic, in any form, is good for us, regardless of what it gets turned into..
