I always thought it'd be cool to have an MP5, but not for the price these are going for. Add the SBR and can tax and it's over $2000.. that's pretty steep for what I'd consider to be a toy. Might as well just buy one of those GSG 22lr ones ;)

These composite doors LOOK super thick and strong but it's just a thin layer of sheet metal (11 gauge or thinner usually) and can be cut right through as shown in the picture. If you want something better try one with a plate door on it. Of course the sides of the safe are still rolled steel that can be cut just like the front of this was.

That's pretty interesting. I've been wondering how I could have a suppressor for my 8.5" blackout without getting blasted while shooting without the suppressor. I have a firepig on there now and this looks like a good solution. Is there anything else similar to this out there I don't know about?

This lower does NOT use the armalite AR-10 pattern so calling it that is completely false. This lower uses the DPMS LR-308 pattern which is why I called it that. I don't think PA is calling their product an AR-10, only the writers here are.

So I see a lot of 50th anniversary 10/22's on gunbroker already (takedown models and other stuff that isn't this new gun). This press release says this will only be available in 2014 so how can I set something up to make sure I don't miss my chance to snag one?

I spent almost $1000 more than that to build mine.. and it really isn't that fancy. Everything about these is bigger, heavier, and way more expensive than an ar-15. $1200 seems like a steal to me.

I had a friend do a paracord job on it similar to the one in this post, so it cost me nothing. I think that should minimize the hook issue.

The MFT is both lighter and cheaper than the MOE.. and it doesn't already come on thousands of other rifles. I think half the reason I like it is that it ISN'T from Magpul (even though I love their stuff, EVERYONE has it)
