If both teams play on the soggy field at the same time, then all is fair.

Re: Litzow 'doesn't get it' - Mercer Island Reporter

I find the MI school board unanimously supporting a single candidate curious. I don’t think Litzow is anti-education…. Actually, he is so concerned about education he somehow manages to find a way to finance his oldest daughter to private school. What kind of free-thinking out of the box ideas are the students of Mercer Island receiving when all of the board members are against the “home boy”.

Re: Marcie Maxwell will represent all of the 41st District - PNWLocalNews

We need to get past the diversity excuse. For those in Renton, elect Marci if you want a politician that continues to use diversity as the excuse for underperforming. Renton parents are as committed to their sons and daughters as any community. You deserve a leader who accepts the hand dealt and brings a skill set that solves problems. These problems need solved and Litzow will solve them, regardless of the challenges.

Re: Litzow 'doesn't get it' - Mercer Island Reporter

The last thing this State needs is more of the same WEA lockstep policies. Marci and Pat are imbedded in the WEA. Where, like any union, WEA's priority is in maintaining job security and improving pay/benefits. Student perfomrance enhancing policies are second priority. Marci is more of the same: policy nibbling and more unaccountable funding. Education activists need to evaluate the politicians they support. More policy nibblers means more of the same. Review Marci's web site for her education specifics: "more funding, no stance on local levies, re-define basic ed, do better for early & higher education" - well okay. Steve has the courage to document specifics that address the single largest percentage of school funding: labor. Steve documents he wants "competitive wages, single subject certification, single subject training and performance bonuses." This all equates to merit pay. The sacred third rail. Lastly, I thought it a bit of poor form for a local school board member to so publicly make a "just does not get it" statement against a local politician.
