If there is a comparable thing that happened to a conservative because of liberals, I'd be against that. I'm kinda against what happened to Roseanne, the other case mentioned in the article, but her tweets were while she was on the job she lost. Gunn's tweets were old and addressed. An insensitive tweet shouldn't haunt a person for life. Like I said, people change.

Re: Disney Cuts All Ties With James Gunn After Offensive Old Tweets Go Public

Gunn's directing career took off largely due to his dark humor. That young Gunn wasn't Disney material, but Marvel Studios hired the more mature Gunn we have now. People change. Now we have statutes of limitations that prevent people who commited ten year old crimes from punishment while people with high profiles can lose their careers for ten year old jokes about crimes.

An even greater irony, the conservatives who brought the old tweets to the public did so because they wanted to punish Gunn's liberal politics, not because they think the tweets merit a career ending. I know this because those conservatives also backed a candidate for president that said childish and offensive things in their past. Now Trump is president and Gunn is unemployed. Justice?

Re: The Force Ain’t What It Used To Be

He hinted that Rey's parents were important by continually referring to them without identifying them, making their identify a mystery to be solved. I tried to make it clear that this is stuff the Federation (or Romulans or whoever) should focus on as it is just improvements on existing tech. It's really just an expansion of the tech.

Re: ‘Star Trek’ And The Optimization Of The Transporter

Where to start? ;-)

The Yorktown could have a lot of photon torpedoes especially if they were made specifically for the purpose outlined here. Also, like I said, they could do it without the bombs once they ran out. You can re-read the post, but I'll get into some stuff I didn't mention before.

Teleporting matter where there is already matter would cause a nuclear reaction. Transporters get around this by beaming out the matter that existed wherever they are beaming in something. For example, if an away mission is beamed to the surface of earth, earth's air that occupies the space their body beams into must go somewhere. It must be beamed out for them to safely appear on earth. Take that safety protocol away and *boom*. The Yorktown could beam matter, just a block of steel of something, directly over another block of steel and cause huge explosions in space.

I'm not saying the Federation would allow Romulans or whoever to have this tech, but they might not have a say in the matter. They could develop it themselves. Some of the stuff in the post may not be able to be used as transporters operate in current continuity, but they are just developments on the existing tech. The Federation, and the Rolumans for that matter, should work on it for obvious reasons.

Worth nothing that transporters work by essentially destroying the original and making a copy. There is the reason why they couldn't be used to make multiple copies of a photon torpedo off an original given raw materials.
