Marriage has been redefined an innumerable amount of times previously. It was not about love or procreation, it was about the transfer of chattel from one male to another to relieve a debt, cement political alliances, and forge dynasties.

UPDATE: Marriage equality has been law in Canada since 2005. So far, the sky remains fixed above, the ground has not opened up to emit flames from hell, and nobody is marrying their dog.

How long exactly does it take for the almighty to cause the downfall of society once marriage equality is on the books. Is there a timeframe or something?
