Kea - off the top of my head, ive noticed a lot of places are starting to add free things to menus. for example, sapporo haru on nassau and manhattan now gives you free saki with your dinner and if you spend more than $30 there, you get a free california roll. there are brunch places that do this too - the lazy catfish gives you a free mimosa/blood mary with your brunch.

Krista - the lady at the dunkin donuts on manhattan and greenpoint always gives me a free donut....she gets mad when i order skim milk. and if you stay in the liquor store on greenpoint and manhattan long enough, they will just start giving you wine and shots.

Amanda - free peanuts at black rabbit bar and free popcorn at the mark bar.
things to do--- walk up and down manhattan ave- just to window shop! La Cue
pool hall on mcguinness and calyer - totally fun - totally weird and totally cheap (ish)

Justine - In the Spring and Summer, going old school and taking a six pack down to the piers is always relaxing. Not necessarily legal, but a well hidden 40 between friends shouldn't get the 94th concerned.

I second Amanda's suggestion of window shopping on Manhattan Ave. If you really took the time to take a look at some of the stores, you'd be pretty entertained and realize that you could pretty much find ANYTHING you could ever need on the Avenue. And a ton of bargains.

Donuts at Peter Pan Bakery - a Greenpoint legacy, cheap and delicious. Sit at the counter for that 'back in time' feeling.
