I saw the film when it debuted in 1965 with my 5th grade class. Since this was a Catholic school, the affinity between those lyrical nuns on screen and our not so lyrical nuns about us was awkward but peculiarly inspiring. Nice memories which I never forgot during my repeated viewings of The Sound of Music over the years.
