START YOUR ENGINES!"

The green light counter is a good idea though, it may promote a *little* speeding up, but I doubt that would cause as many problems as the red [in the UK where the sequence goes green->amber->red there's no huge amount of speeding to make the amber light (a little though)).

My favourite pedestrian counters are the ones that both show how long until the next crossing time, and the time left on the current one; SF seems to have those down well :)

Re: www.nbrightside.com

When you got off the train did you notice another gentleman... tall, bearded and a vaguely eastern-mediterranean look around him getting off the train too? I could draw a lot of parallels in the time I spent in Consulting with the points that you draw out.

I think that your comment on Twitter indicates a wider need though, people need to sound off, somewhere, when something goes wrong. Doing that in the commetns of a blog, or on Twitter is (usually) much less destructive than them doing it in a meeting. T'Internet is a great safety valve!

Re: Ince on Celtic -

The reason is depressingly simple, not enough people watch Scottish football to make the investment worthwhile.

Ignore the Old Firm for a moment (I'll come back to them) and examine the attendences at this weekend's match's, the SPL got between 14,265 (Hearts - Aberdeen) and 3110 (Inverness - Motherwell). To show you how bad it can even be for the Old Firm, Rangers playing away at Hamilton only got 4621.

Now try and find equivalent figures in the English leagues... (here's a hint *cough*League Two*cough*) still surprised there's such a gap?

Even when the Old Firm play popular matches (Celtic - Hibs today got over 58,000 attendance) that lack of gate, and hence money means that they don't get tested week in and week out... and you can see the skills suffering.

I think all things considered they did a lot better than they should do.

Re: www.nbrightside.com

But the question is...

...is Doug a blue nose? ;)
