marcylee I don't think I knew about this situation but I will certainly pray for all involved. I will add them and MA's brother to my intentions for this month's novena to St Therese.

MA I will keep your brother and family as well as the donor and their family in my prayers. I know it is of great consolation to a grieving family when they are able to help someone else with an organ donation.

Patty, I hadn't thought of the martyrs! Excellent point. By the way, let me know if you get a chance to see Jesus Of Nazareth. I let my mother borrow my copy last Easter and she told me she cried at the beauty of the Christ child in the temple reading scripture.

I got into a discussion today with the pastor of another church about Jesus' ride into Jerusalem. Not only was it to fulfill His Father's will, but it was to act in contrast to the way the Romans also rode into Jerusalem, which they did every year before the Passover to keep the Jews in line. While there was much Roman pageantry, horses adorned in Roman armor, etc, there was Christ on a lowly little donkey, eliciting not fear but praise and homage. It's something I never thought of.

Thanks Patty, I think that's a very good explanation. I have been praying my monthly novena to St Therese and in one of the "sermons" Bishop Noser talks about the time that she had to run from a room because she was falsely accused of something and wanted to emulate Christ in not defending herself. I just thought it was a good example for us to try to emulate. Not easy by any means but we can at least try, right?

I'm not about to cast a stone because I myself am certainly not without sin. But in the reading of the Passion today, I made note of the fact that Jesus gave no reply when Pilate asked him with what He was being charged. In imitation of Our Lord during this Holy Week, can we resolve to let go the bitter and angry comments that are sometimes said about us, especially if we KNOW they're not true? So long as God knows we're telling the truth, does it really matter what someone who spends all day and night on a message board thinks? It's amazing to me how much further and further we get away from what I hope is the real intended purpose of this website - that is, to stand up for the unborn and to be united as faithful Catholics in doing our part to rid the world of its evils. It's great that people give up things they love for Lent. But let's go one step further and at least for this Holy and solemn week, try to resolve to give up the need to defend ourselves to someone who doesn't matter, to needing to get in the last word, to giving into the temptation of responding to ugliness with more ugliness. If you see me do any of these things, you have all my permission to remind me out of charity.

I hope everyone has a happy and blessed Palm Sunday. We still have a whole week to go before we celebrate the Resurrection. We can make the most out of it, even in cyberspace. Thanks for listening.

I am never mean to Jehovah's Witnesses, or anyone else for that matter, but I don't think they're spreading the Gospel when they place more emphasis on Jehovah than they do on Christ. I work with many JW's who are very fine and upstanding people. They are very respectful of my faith as I am of theirs. For instance, I cannot give my JW employees a Christmas gift so I always give them a thank you card for their hard work. We have neighbors who are JWs but they will not allow their grandchild to play over here because I have a statues of the saints and depictions of Christ and the Blessed Mother throughout my home. We're still neighbors and we still help each other out but I don't get what they're about any more than they get what I'm about. By the way, I've never known any JW to "preach" in a social situation and I know quite a few of them. Interesting.

You would be surprised at how many other denominations are anti-Catholic, especially because of the Virgin Mary. It's frightening.

I'm always having to battle the Jehovah's Witnesses, but they ask for it by insisting on knocking on my door. I try to be nice but it gets tiresome after awhile. That is one religion I do not understand at all.

I think I caught got the tail-end of those two and from what I recall, one or both of them had a problem with the Catholic faith and thought the Bible was sufficient. Correct me if I'm wrong.
