I stopped going to Blockbuster ages ago. Ever heard of Redbox? There's one at Albertsons. Rentals for $1. They're all over Seattle. There are lots of other options like Netflix. Sorry Hollywood...but your days are long gone.

This was my chuckle for the day. Gee, the townhomes weren't selling? What a surprise. And they won't sell at the "reduced" price, either. Why would you drop that kind of money for a townhome in the middle of the village? Did the developer do any market research to determine if anyone was crazy enough to drop that kind of moola? If I was interested, I would just wait it out. The price is going to drop. And drop. And drop. If you're a potential buyer, no need to move right now.

Here's a question no one has been able to answer for me: Halloween this year is today, on a Saturday. Parents are home and off work, able to plan a day of fun for their kids. So why, pray tell, is the Magnolia merchants event on a Friday at 4 p.m.? Doesn't make sense. You could start with the merchants, and then hit the local neighborhoods for more Trick or Treat. The merchants are open on Saturday, so why have the kids dress up twice?

The Bay Cafe is great. But it would be so cool to have something in the Village. And of course, if you leave the hill, there's nothing like breakfast at the Shanty on Elliott!

Haven't stopped in for a few weeks - have they added the full breakfasts yet? With the exception of Rudy's, there's no place nearby to have breakfast without leaving the hill. And yes, I know Serendipity exists. Like I said, there's no place to go.

I was at the Magnolia Thriftway yesterday and I heard the cashier talking to a customer about the "Whole Paycheck" store that had just opened up. I have to get a bank loan just to shop at Thriftway. I know WF isn't cheap, but it's a nice alternative.
