Are you just trying to be stupid or are you really this dumb? My point with Tiananmen Square was about PROTESTING in general. How do you claim to be this informed yet you can't even wrap your head around a simple analogy or draw a line between two similar instances? I would think our student senators would represent people who can actually read and not misquote an article but I guess I was wrong. If my article reflects badly on the Daily 49er, you reflect much more poorly on A.S.I. since I believe you are a "senator", correct? Nothing like sucking the teat stipend of students struggling to pay their tuition while you debate meaningless topics with the rest of the Senate. I covered the Senate for the paper years ago and while they did some good, they often ran circles around issues that were unimportant to the student body at-large. You're an idiot, plain and simple.

Firstly, I'm not a right-winger. I judge issues based on their merits and because my opinion happens to converge with that of a "right-winger" on this topic it makes me a right-winger in general? Alright dude. Also, if you must know, it took me five years to get my bachelor's, then I went into the real world (something you probably know nothing of), then three years later I returned to work on a master's...so no, not nine years.

The Daily 49er did not write this column so it is unfair to say that they continue to miss "the point", whatever that is. My articles are indicative of my opinions, not those of the newspaper. Carla, you made one of the stupidest comments I have heard anyone say, ever. "The people that were murder in the Holocaust at least had the chance to live"...how so? You mean, while being led into gas chambers they could have just said, "I think I'll pass this time", while the Nazi with a machine gun trained on the crowd looked on? Don't play stupid with me, Joe. By "living" I mean walking around, living life, not totally oblivious to everything and being a parasite to whichever woman you happen to be growing inside of. I don't have scientific evidence that a child in the womb is enjoying their lives and you don't have any to disprove me either. But what I will ask is, can you remember this momentous time in your life, when all day you would hang out in your mother's amniotic sac and just plot out your life? Didn't think so.

I'm not a woman but I have read accounts by women who have had abortions and for lack of a better word, they are sometimes pretty fucked up from the process. Then again, I have heard about girls who have had numerous abortions and aren't so fucked up. This is where it comes down to a personal choice, and it is not one me or you can make for any woman. If you are okay with it, by all means do it and accept whatever consequences come from it (namely in whether you will turn out fucked up or not), but if you aren't, you also have the choice to little the earth with more unwanted progeny.

And the issue really comes down to whether or not a baby in the womb is afforded all the rights and freedoms of a human being who is walking around and breathing the same air I am. And guess what? A fetus is not. Therefore, abortion is a medical procedure and comparing it to genocide is deeply offensive to anyone who sees genocide for what it is...you apparently don't.
