I guess harder to build a documentary or article around that for the mainstream press though ...

PS. Having lurked on the previous incarnation of this blog for a few years time I actually contributed something - Hi everybody!

Re: I want, you want, we all want Swedish Beers!

Swedish Beers is an excellent opportunity to network with some of the most interesting folks in mobile - usually far more useful than the posturing and droning up in the congress itself!

Re: Man Tries To Pay Bill With Spider Drawing

Original comes from David Thorne's own site at ...

http://www.27bslash6.com/ov...

He seems to seems to be an entertainingly disturbed individual!

Geoff.

Re: The State of Mobile Blogging: It Ain't Pretty

After hunting around for an app to do it with no success I ended up simply using the main browser on my E61i to post to my Blogger account - which was entirely workable though not massively quick.

I imagine any of the Safari browsered Nokia S60s would be able to do this. Obviously not massively efficient in mobile data terms though!

Re: 3, Oh How You Make Me Feel Conflicted

Strongly agree with you that this is very significant. As I ramble on about in more detail over at my blog I think we might be starting to see the tipping point over to flat rate being the normal way things are done.

Very ironic it comes from 3!

In reply to Anders comment above I would say that though we need to wait and see what nasty "fair use" conditions etc. they put in, they do say that "what’s free to use on the internet should be free to use on mobile broadband" which is a fairly strong pointer.

Geoff.

Re: Mobile Marketing Has Finally Arrived

I think there is quite a big difference between the current typical use of admob which appears to be driving traffic into sites that sell downloads and other mobile media products, and using it as part of a more traditional marketing. SMS has already crossed this divide.

The mobile browsing platform is slowly maturing and starting to be used as a serious marketing platform in its own right - but it will take a while. But I do agree with Russell - it is coming!

Geoff.
