The debtor can probably still settle this debt for about half what is owing.  The credit card company would much rather settle for some dollar amount than no dollar amount.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Also, I do not understand your bankruptcy comment.  How does filing bankruptcy remove an employed person to the ranks of unemployed thus state benefits collector?  That makes no sense.  Employed people file bankruptcy all the time and remain employed.  Being unemployed will NOT excuse this debt.  All that can happen to the debtor is for the credit card company to obtain a judgment against the debtor and that judgment will need to be renewed every 7 years, I think, or the judgment will no longer be valid.&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">GatorTator</dc:creator><pubDate>Mon, 03 Aug 2009 12:35:40 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
