Consider that a MX-30 Astina (EV) is $70K + then I would expect the larger hybrid to be $70K as a base price going up to $100k levels in all honesty. We all know over seas pricing has little bearing on Australian prices for cars as all car brands price their cars like they were individually flown in on their own A380 (the Australia tax at work)
Hopefully they will also offer something in the pure EV market with more range than a Renault Twizy.

Re: 2022 Tesla Cybertruck revealed

You seem to be forgetting that the vehicle you see on the net is NOT the final vehicle you will see in car parks everywhere. Firstly I suspect that the rear headroom issue will be fixed (noting that in all the videos I have seen, average sized american journalist have seemed relatively comfortable in the back seat and as to the side height issue, I have rarely seen anyone put something in the bed of their Navara over the sides apart from a couple of grocery bags from Aldi. Big stuff goes in via the tailgate, and the Cybertruck can lower the bed height through its adjustable shocks and may even come with a built in ramp on the tailgate.
Lets not forget the built in bed roller cover that comes with the vehicle to start with, no need for after market canopies that frankly reduce the usability of most utes in my personal experience. As to safety, the all stainless steel construction makes it vastly stronger than any Ute on the market by a large margin, separate bed or not.
I would also like to point out, the Cybertruck is deliberately NOT attractively designed, it is deliberately out there to NOT look like every other 2 box designed Ute/Truck. A feature that will make it stand out from the crowd and get noticed, It won't need to be jacked up to unsafe levels and have over sized wheels and tyres thrown on it to be noticed and it won't be spewing copious quantities of particulates into the atmosphere to "make a statement" It IS the statement.

Re: 10 Astonishing Tilt-Shift Videos

you do understand that you do not need a special lens to achieve this effect, it can be done in still photography using simple techniques in Photoshop or just about any photo manipulating software and for film it can be achieved through video editing software like Premiere Pro.
Great videos regardless but nothing that requires deep pockets to achieve

Re: So Thong | Canucklehead.ca | Canucklehead

you do understand the first rule of the internet
"what has been seen cannot be un-seen"
for this I curse you ;-)

Actually looks a bit like Matt Damon from the back as well..........

Re: [CES 2010] RCA Airnergy Charger Harvests Electricity From WiFi Signals

I think what everyone here is forgetting is that the number of WiFi signals has little to do with charging capacity. The most important factors are antenna size and conversion percentage, as Cynake has pointed out, even with 100% conversion of WiFi signal to captured energy the device just will not produce the output required to replace the charge in a 4,000 mWh battery in a reasonable time.
You can direct the output from hundreds of WiFi signals to the antenna in the device but the bottlneck is still the efficiency and size of the antenna.

Re: More ways to get OS X goodness on a PC

My son has had OS X running on his home built Intel quad core for a few weeks now, he dual boots between it and Vista. Having played with it on his machine myself I can say I am impressed how fast it runs considering that it is a patch and pray installation. compared to how well Vista runs on the same machine it is a veritable greyhound while Vista (the OS designed for the hardware) runs like a bloated pig.
I have been a Windows user from the early days of DOS yet lately I have delved into Linux (Ubuntu) and find myself booting more often into it than WIndows, maybe it is a sign, when a community drive OS is faster and more stable than the mainstream alternative, that is is time for the mainstream to pull their heads in and have a long hard stare at their navel for a while.
