I want a MILC with an optical viewfinder - even if it's a rangefinder, great battery life and the support of a fully-fleshed lens system. Where is it? Did I overlook that gear somehow?

Re: Denon AH-D1100

Great sounding headphones ruined by poor, fragile design and cheap materials. The cheap plastic prongs that hold the ear cups of mine, which thanks to poor design are always under enough tension when worn to creak and groan incessantly, broke completely within the first year of very casual use. Denon fixed them under warranty with the same crappy parts. I sold them. Awful build quality at ANY price point.

Re: Tech Tips - The Digital Journalist

Chuck, one final question about the 5DII: has the problem of Radio Frequency Interference banding, which occurred with some lenses at high ISO (in AI Servo?), been addressed? My understanding is that this was a result of the 5D's electronics being less well shielded against EM fields than, say, the 1-series cameras. RFI–or whatever it's referred to–was a common enough problem for me that I avoided ISO 3200 with the 5D, making it far less useful of a camera than I'd expected based on its specification. I'm hoping it's not going to persist as an issue for the 5DII. Thanks.

Re: Tech Tips - The Digital Journalist

Okay, thanks for the clarification and for your prompt, courteous attention in general.

Re: Tech Tips - The Digital Journalist

Thanks, Chuck. I'd read that repairing the mirror in the original 5D involved replacing the entire mirror box. Is this because the replacement assembly incorporates these extra clips as well?

Re: Tech Tips - The Digital Journalist

The first generation 5D was plagued with incidences of the reflex mirror coming apart from its frame, apparently when shooting in high heat, high humidity changes. Has the 5D's mirrorbox assembly been carried over unmodified to the 5D MarkII, or have there been changes to more securely affix the mirror?
