Great thoughts! And well-written to boot. Couldn't agree more with the sentinment -- there is (and needs to continue to be) a balance in the movie-making profession. I think great storytelling can generally stand on its own -- but when combined with great artistic talent (read: cinematography, music) and great entertainment value (read: special effects) it can transcend above the daily ho-hum. It can truly stretch us.

Of course, now I want to go home early and watch a movie!

Truly a good problem to have. It's like having to pay a whole lot of money in taxes... it follows that you made a whole lot of money during the year. A stinker, yes, but a good stinker. Is nice to know that you're throwing darts at a board full of 20's though. No matter where it lands, you're bound to strike gold. And maybe even sometimes you'll hit a triple score.

Eh, the news will be there when you're done. What's to report anyway? It's just an election year, our financial markets are in ruin, and (something I know you care deeply about) our Chicago baseball teams can't seem to figure out how to put runs on the board.
