Great team, great fans! Class all the way! Here in Katy Texas we are almost as proud of you as your fans and parents. WELL DONE!

Re: Katy returns the favor

It's about 32 hours before our Texas Class 5A Div 2 Championship Game as I write. ESPN has ranked the Abilene Eagles #2 in the Nation. Comparatively, we (Katy Tigers) are underdogs as a result. I just can't help but believe that if the Bellevue Wolverines are with their Katy Tigers brothers in Spirit and Prayer, that will push us over the top! Go Tigers! Go Wolverines!

Re: Katy returns the favor

Pablo is exactly right! It was a great moment...I was there at Rice, too. Honor recieved, Honor returned. Much has been said lately in Washington press and Houston-area press about You, Us, and You and Us. Whatever happens, we in Katy Texas will never forget the year the Bellevue Wolverines took a great chance...(going all the way to Katy Texas) and became the worthiest of opponents and fastest of friends. May 2009 never be forgotten! This is what high school sports should be about. Well Done all!

Re: Bellevue beats Liberty 23-17 for state title - Bellevue Reporter

I agree whole-heartedly with pablocruise08: CONGRATS WOLVERINES from Katy Texas! Their first three opponents this year have been or are ranked in ESPN Rise Top 50 in the nation. Yes, there are higher ranked teams in Texas using the same poll but not many. And it is a long season. Katy works for Championships at the end of the season not worrying about rankings during. Katy and many Texas schools every year find the best non-district opponents possible so that by the time District play begins they have played better teams than most if not all in their District. The team's ultimate showing in District play determines a playoff shot. That is what Katy has done, and clearly Belevue sees the wisdom in it too. Bellevue has improvement to make, for sure. But they arguably have the kids, the coaches and tradition to still make a great showing. How many Katy's and Grant (both in ESPN Top 50) are left on their schedule? Get After It Wolverines!

Re: Bellevue football shut out by Grant - Bellevue Reporter

From down on The Katy (TX) Prairie I'm sorry to hear of the Wolverines' loss to Grant. But it is still very early in a long season. You have played (and lost) to two of the best in the nation. That is nothing to be ashamed of. Our own Katy Tigers lost their first two games last year and then lost their District champinship deciding game, too....but once in the State Championship Playoffs, they ran the table for their second consecutive State Championship! Be happy you have well prepared yourselves fro the remainder of the season by playing Katy and Grant. Many down here have been nicely impressed by y'all and your supporters. Keep your chins up, work hard...brains and courage will take you a long way.
