I have already racked up over a $2,000 + vet bill to be told my 14 yr. loving male cat has CKD & Hyperthroidism.
I do have him on Royal Canin kibble for CKD ( he abhors wet food ) since a kitten. He has lots of daily fresh water & loves it.
However, there is no way he would ever tolerate more hydration under his skin.
And in no way would he take a pill for his hyperthroidism.
Iam 70 yrs. & no longer earning a $50,000 a yr. income.
He loves sleeping between my legs in our recliner ( due to my back injury, I cannot sleep in a bed )

My question, is it time to let him go over Rainbow Bridge, so that he suffers no more.

He is eating less, them vomiting it up daily.

Help? I always had German Shepherds, and when it was their time....it was able to be known.

Same here, I love Mr. Tio following me everywhere in our Apt. Yes, even just lays on a nice brown rug by the sink, and waits for me to do my thing! Lol

I have always had German Shepherds. And Mr. Tio is my first indoor (for the last 2 yrs. living in an Apt.). Before that he with his, German Shepherd, Ms Aspen had a lovely fenced yard with a cat Barrier. So Mr. Tio would go out the doggy door with his mother, Ms. Aspen. How they loved one another!

Do I ever feel how hard it is to leave Willie for the night.

Last Februrary I has to care for my sister 25 miles away day and night while she was totally bedridden except to make it to her bathroom in her bedroom!
I would drive 50 miles round trip, daily to spend 2 hours snuggling with Mr. Tio.

We do love our cats...& I all my former German Shepherds.

my mind.

As you describe your cats exact same behavior
Getting up,on you while you are attempting
to use your tablet.....is exactly what Mr. Tio
does with me, literally just climbs over it in
my hands to cling to me, snuggle on my left
& shoulder, purring, licking my ear lobe,
which he suckled as a kitten for years.

The joys of the antics of a cat who thinks he
Is a German Shepherd and would lick the inside
his Ms. Aspen's ears daily.

Ms. Aspen took to baby Mr. Tio so lovingly.
She was 4 yrs. old and lil Tio 7 weeks. How they
Bonded! They would sleep with one another,
Curled up together.

The day I came home after sending Ms. Aspen
who at age 8 was crippled with doggie M.S,as
we're her mother & father, and her 16 siblings;
Mr. Tio let out the most mournful Yowl as ever
I have heard. And he scratched my face up
quite a bit for 6 months. Biting me. Shessh
He was so angry with me.

My Neuro-radiologist, dear friend & wife,
turned their family room into a birthing room &
Nursery with classical music 24/7!

You should have seen the 3 of us helping Ms.
Tipper in her birthing of her pups.
We all gowned up with masks on no less....Lol
and Shelly would hand each newborn to Dr.
John who would give the pup a quick bit of
02...then hand to me to place in the warming
bed until Ms. Tipper had given birth to all
8 pups, then Dr. John would place them all
with their mom. Lol. Have you ever heard
of such extreme assistance.

Ms. Tipper would look at us with such tender
gratitude in her eyes.

Iam of the belief that animals are far more
intelligent & loving than we ego centered
humans....and they share & teach us about
un-conditional love, loyalty & trust!

And, I know Mr. Tio reads my mind, as well as
bossing me around & shepherding me thru
my movement in my Apt.

Iam sure you are truly chuckling now!
So that be my tale of Ms. Aspen & Mr. Tio...
who thinks he is a DOG!

My 13 yr. old Tuxedo very loving, male cat was always an outdoor indoor cat with a fence with a kitty barrier to keep him in years &'other critters out!

Now at,68'yrs. We live in an Apt. for seniors and he is now an indoor cat for his safety as well as Apt. rules., he has two desks by two front windows to watch the neighbor's go by, and watches the birds, mice,and in summer feral cats who he loves.

My concern is he has taken to licking his soft beds, as well as the carpet. He never did that into the past 6 months. Is he suffering from anxiety or dementia. He spends much of the day & night hugging me and in my lap. He sleeps between my legs on our recliner at night & times during the day while I meditate!

Very intelligently, rational comment about THE PAGAN HOLIDAY OF THE ROMANS that Christians agreed to adopt when Constantine of Roman told the Jewish and some Gentiles we living a life following Jesus or groups of Jesus' who were Essene Jews (rebels of the Jewish Tradition gone bad) ! In essence The Resurrection of Jesus was created years after his death...and co- mingled with the ROMAN CELEBRATION OF NEW LIFE, PROCREATION OF WHAT SPRING brought each year after Winter!
A very well educated nun, about the Sociological, Philosophical, and Historical Issues of one Ancient Culture the JEWS!

FAITH in a JEWISH MONOTHEISTIC GOD, MESSIH, an Essene Jew named Jesus is a CHOICE TO HAVE THE HOPE AND BELIEF of who we are, why we are here and how we should LOVE while here on earth in this life!
There are many, many other Cultural Belief Systems which actually share the same conclusions and decisions on how we as persons need to live in society of peace, justice and love.

Wow! You just woke up my mind....you are so correct...Jesus is a TRANSGENERED person, born of a woman...no male sperm, DNA! Gee, why did this never cross my feminist, lesbian mind! DUH!
Yes, I left the convent in my early 30's because I could no longer tolerate being in love, desiring the sharing of our love ( yes I mutually loved two nuns ) and we were committed to our vow of celibacy as tormenting it was for us, but mostly me...thus I left and have had a wonderful 29 yr. Relationship with a Buddhist partner! I never had the words to describe my tender feelings from age 6 on, for each girl I loved in a way so different than with my other gal and boy pals all the way thru 2 yrs. Of college prior to entering the Convent...To know, love and serve God in this world...and to pray the gay away. Lol. It did not work!

As a former nun of 15 yrs. Iam so grateful that I did walk away from ROME, still loving my sisters left behind.....though many had left before me and after me. At 66 yrs. A retired Social Worker who paid my way thru Graduate school in order to work with youth on the streets, I continue to live my vow of SIMPLICITY, so that others may simply live. I do admit, that my paying it forward for many years, working 60+ hr. Weeks while being paid only for 40 hrs. MY CHOICE, MY DEVOTION TO YOUTH & THEIR DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILIES OF ALCOHOL EXCESS AND DRUG USE! I have dear friends who now pay it forward, when they recognize my need and pay it forward to me!
