Each side wants only what the Party's interests are. Often times one party will counter the others actions simply because it is not theirs. The simple fact that we have "Parties" is ridiculous because it is the group sitting behind the desks who control who will be put forward to run for president. This stops Joe Crap the Ragman from running for president but at the same time only having two views limits progress.

This reminds me of the South Park episode where the school has to vote between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich for School Mascot. They couldn't have summed the presidential election any better.

Re: Anti-intellectualism, the video

Over the past few years I have seen numerous videos around web showing American's giving the dumbest answers to questions that a 5th grader could answer. What I didn't realize was that the video above was from a British news channel. I just want to say that, yes, there are stupid American's like those in the video, but when you think about it, its possible to ask the same trivia to citizens of other nations and find just as many "stupid" people. Imagine how many people the reporter had to go through to find these poor saps who most likely never received a higher level of education after high school. As for how our education system is doing, I believe that we need to increase the rigor of the primary education level.
But seriously, Korea in Australia? : {
