My "college education" and "safety degree" weren't a prerequisite to realizing that the Middle Class is getting the shaft. As an aside, Palin was the only person in the campaign that even mentioned guns; It was not a focus of either party's platform because there are bigger problems at hand than whether you AND I will get to keep our guns. Had you paid attention to what was actually going on instead of just listening to those little political-ideology voices in your head, you may have picked up on that. I digress.
What my "college education" and "safety degree" has earned me is a respect for regulatory control. When the pendulum swings too far in one direction or the other, it needs to come back. Look at what happened wtih Process Safety (thats 1910.119 -- in case you didn't know since you most likely don't have a "college education" or "safety degree"). Private industry was allowed to take more control and OSHA had less presence and influence, all of which culminated at BP. Nobody should have to die or get hurt to spurn a government entity into action. The pendulum needs to swing away from all the privatization and back to OSHA having some real presence and influence.
Maybe OSHA can get the necessary funding from all the millions of tons of scrap metal that will be generated from taking all the guns away from everybody. If you believe that, then you, sir, are the ass.
