Peggy has really disappointed me the past few years. I used to admire the way she used words and communicated her passion with them. But when I hear or read her now I feel disconnected from what she is saying.

I've noticed that many of the folks who were big stars during the Reagan era and afterwards have felt somewhat left out in the 21st Century Bush era. And I think it bothers them. Maybe they are just saddened that they are no longer in the loop and they take it out on Bush.

I saw her on "The Factor" tonight with Laura Ingraham. It's been a few years since I have seen her on TV (she doesn't usually do Fox News) and her age is starting to catch up with her. She's 57 now. Last time I saw her she was wearing some leather bomber jacket trying to look young and hip.

Now, she's got a Margaret Thatcher hairdo and gone is the leather jacket.

I hope I will be able to enjoy her work again. She really nailed what it was like to be in the Regan White House.

Beyond just banning, how about an easy way to identify the IP, list the host name and location related to the IP?

We have some tricky characters who use different IP's but usually the same host name in various locations. Best if we can get all the available IP info to figure out who they are.

Funny thing is that "journalists" who are suppsed to be trained to vet their sources never bothered.

I don't recall you mentioning that at the time and sadly, due to the design changes here we can't easily go back and check.

But I don't see anything in your comment above that indicates your displeasure with those on the left who just as soon as the shots were fired in Tucson started blaming the right and continue to do so.

You might make a stronger case for your own objectivity if you had spent at least as much time criticizing the left as you seem to do criticizing the right.

Unless of course you agree with those who suggest that this maniac was somehow the product of right wing generated hatred.

Phillip: This is not the time or place for a debate on gun laws. Besides, what good would it do to outlaw guns, or extended Glock magazines in Arizona when the Mexican gangs that so freely cross the border because of lax border security (something Rep. Giffords was especially concerned with) can so freely bring in ample supplies for any criminal, or derange lunatic who wants to buy one?

As for getting rid of gun metaphors, first talk to the Daily Kos who used nearly identical language in regard to Rep. Giffords when they put the "bullseye" on her.

I frankly don't think gun imagery has anything to do with this shooting. Where was the gun imagery that inspired John Hinckley Jr. to shoot President Reagan? Should we ban Jodie Foster?

And since you brought it up, it didn't take me any time at all to "google" for Obama's gun fight comments. The man is notorious for making statements like that as I have pointed out then turning around and decrying the lack of civility when anyone dares to criticize him.

That's a very good point Bill and one that bears repeating: " if Palin is responsible for this murderer, then the Beatles are responsible for Charles Manson."

In reading so much of the material that is out there about this shooting I am just appalled that so many fingers point at Palin. It's beyond absurd and ridiculous. It is exactly the kind of baseless demonization of a public figure that the Congressman cited above says is such a problem.

Thanks for that additional information Anna. In the flood of news I had missed the fact that the Sheriff who is pointing blame at conservatives had missed opportunities to do something about this problem when Jared made death threats to others.

Perhaps the Sheriff has been so offensively outspoken on this subjec to try and cover his tracks.

I have to disagree just a bit Bill. Unfortunately, the big lie the left is telling will sink in on some subliminal level with a number of people who may say to themselves "well there might be something to it" then they go on to view conservatives like Sarah Palin with more suspicion.

And on another level: at least one news report describes a senior Republican in Washington suggesting that we have to be more careful with our words from now on. You think there will be any such self censoring on the left?

Hi Rivka! Good to hear from you.

I was not surprised at the positive reaction by many on the right. A long time conservative friend of mine called last night to praise Obama's speech even though I had told him just days before that it was all part of an orchestrated plan to revive Obama's political career.

You KNOW that since Saturday's tragic shooting the White House has been giving Dems who point the finger of blame at Republicans a wink behind the scenes just so Obama could come out and appear like the great uniter.

And the cheering, whistling and T Shirts did make the "memorial" look more like a campaign rally.
