Don't like the sound of this. Would make more sense for Wolverine to wake up in the future. Sentinels aren't around so mission accomplished, but OH CRAP alternate timeline with original cast (including Cyclops and Jean) taking on Apocalypse. Setting the film in the past limits the amount of cool characters they can use and would only be done because Fassbender and Lawrence are hot right now.

It means studios don't want actresses over 40 having meaty roles so they have to go elsewhere.

Meaty roles for non-white actress over 40 are rare. This is a good movie for Halle, especially as Spielberg is involved.

It's been in development for a while. I can't see it happening as Ryan Reynolds hasn't been that successful lately (R.I.P.D) so Fox may be against the idea.

Rogue, Kitty, Jean, and Mystique have all had some sort of love interest during the series. Storm hasn't, and is the only major female character not to. It's a fair comment.

The end credit scene of X3 suggested Xavier was still alive (or at least his mind was). I'm sure it will get an explanation in the film.

As far as we know the film will take place in the 70s and in the future. A young version of Cyclops could show up in the 70s, but I doubt James Marsden's Cyclops will appear unless alternate timelines are involved.
