I checked this claim earlier about guiding 22 tankers out of the Strait of Hormuz.

Independent marine traffic monitors and shipping analysts have not provided public data corroborating the military has escorted a large group of ships through the Strait at night.

I checked again before I posted and there is still no corroboration.

If this has actually been successful should Trump have revealed it and allowed Iran to adapt and change their surveillance methods, and better prepare for future transits?

Yikes - I didn't mean to suggest we change laws to accommodate the MAGAs - only to explain how it plays into their lies. Plus we rarely have an explanation for why there are vote counting delays to counter their lies.

Example: I'm in Pennsylvania and Trump claimed the 2020 election was rigged because he lost the lead overnight. But the law doesn't allow mailing in votes to be opened, removed by the envelopes and counted until election day. But that isn't widely known but Trump complaint and lie gets the headlines and is repeated over and over and over.

Changes occur as votes are counted. Maybe early in the counting a red area like Orange County reports results and the Republican leads but later a larger blue area reports results and the Democrat move into the lead.

By law election officials in all of California’s 58 counties then have up to 30 days to count final ballots and the California Secretary of State will certify results on July 10.

Time has an informative explanation of why it takes California so long to count the ballots and it plays into the MAGA lies that there's election fraud in every California election.

Mostly it comes down to mail-in voting (80% of votes are mail-in) and California allows mail-in votes to be counted as long as they are postmarked by election day and arrive within 7 days after election day. Then voters have 22 days to "cure" things like their signature not matching what's on file.

Election officials in all of California’s 58 counties then have up to 30 days to count final ballots and the California Secretary of State will certify results on July 10.

A study published by the Brookings Institution in November found that cases of mail-in voting fraud accounted for only 0.000043% of all mail ballots, or roughly four out of every 10 million.

This definitely sounds nuts but there is a reason as explained by Snopes:

Trump and his allies complained about Pennsylvania in the 2020 election - he was leading but then he was losing so he claims it was rigged.

He was leading mosting because of the ease of counting election day votes but Pennsylvania law doesn't allow mail-in votes to be opened and counted until election day and this count can even extend to a few days after election day.

The expansion of Pennsylvania mail-in voting was a Republican bill but then they regretted it and tried to get it overturned but it didn't work. There have been attempts to allow mail-in votes to be counted as they come in but Republicans block it because they like that talking point that the delay means the election is rigged.

There may be problems ahead for the Reflecting Pool:

They completed the painting one day and started to fill it the next day. If you've done painting outside you know it needs time to cure and water (rain) can ruin it. They claim what they used was a quick-cure.

Commercial paint and coating experts maintain that even top-tier, multi-part industrial epoxies and polyurethanes typically require a multi-day curing window before being submerged under millions of gallons of water. Submerging any standard industrial pool paint in under 24 hours heavily risks delamination or chemical leaching.

Things were rushed because Trump wanted it done and filled before his UFC fight.

But they didn't do work on the biggest problem. The underground pipes that carry water to the filtration system and returns it to the Reflecting Pool are crumbling so thousands of gallons of water leak everyday but they didn't do any work on those pipes. They claim work will begin in the fall.

Since they didn't repair the pipes and filtration system and water is leaking from the pipes dirt will flow into the pool and algae will grow. Plus with all the ducks and geese that use the Reflecting Pool their waste won't be filtered out.

So they opted for cosmetic work.

Here's some interesting history:

The Leonard Cohen estate has repeatedly and strongly condemned Donald Trump’s use of "Hallelujah". They have explicitly stated that they do not support or approve of the song being played at his events.

But Trump doesn't care:

During the 2020 Republican National Convention, the RNC asked the estate for permission to use the song. The estate specifically declined the request. When the campaign played it anyway, the estate's legal representative stated they were "surprised and dismayed" by the "brazen attempt to politicize and exploit" the track.

After a 2024 campaign event where a cover of "Hallelujah" was played, the estate partnered with Sony Music Publishing to issue an official cease and desist letter to the Trump campaign. They reiterated that the song was used entirely without permission.

There's still a way for them to get paid and the DOJ endorsed the plan but then deleted its endorsement. Lindsey Graham pushed this idea.
