This way you can see a drawing from start to finish. In regards to the Italian pencil, i think you're talking about the progresso pencil. Its a great pencil for getting deep blacks. The one i use is a 4b and its great but if im not mistaken you can also find 6b which is darker. Well i've been drawing all my life but its just been within the last 4 years that i've taking it seriously.
These small drawings are called ACEO, and they are a bit more difficult than the larger ones because you have to take your time, especially if you want to add lots of detail. Well take care and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Re: Update: Disqus for WordPress 2.01 released

I just reinstalled disqus again, and everything seems to be working ok, except that the number of comments for each post don't show on main page. If i run the mouse over the 'comments' link it shows as '/postname/#disqus_thread' and that takes me to the comments. but the link doesn't show number of comments. Before installing disqus it showed the comments for each post from wordpress. Is there any script that i have to add manually for it to show.

Re: Drawing Realistic Hair with Pencil Part One

its a different technique from any other, but it sure does help with achieving realistic hair. When working with longer hair, the technique is basically the same as with short. The only difference is that the strokes to make the indentations are longer. Practice on a separate piece of sheet to get a feeling of drawing longer hair, make it random. I'll post a short video demonstrating how to go about drawing longer hair. As for the snout, its basically the same as the rest of the hair on the head. Its a bit shorter so you have to make the indentations shorter. In my wolf drawing i drew that section the same way as the rest of the hair. Look at this picture, http://img151.imageshack.us..., look at the flow of the hair, it fans out from the middle out. In your reference photo you'll be able to see only the part where the hair is already flowing down the side of the snout. This is a closeup of the snout in my wolf drawing, http://img166.imageshack.us..., i did this one about 4 years ago. I would have added much more detail now, but it shows the technique that you should use and build on the shadows from there. Well if you have any other questions just comment. Keep up the good work, the drawing is looking awesome

Re: Drawing Realistic Hair with Pencil Part One

Youre welcome. Well the only suggestion i can give now is for you to keep practicing the techniques, this will not only improve your drawings but will also help you understand different ways of achieving the effects that you want. With time you will add to this technique your own style and you will make it your own. This technique is not only for eyes but can be used for many other things, it just takes creativity to put it to use. I checked out your work, and you have some great paintings as well, reminds me of Salvador Dali's work. Well keep up the great work and drop by any time. If you have any other questions just post it here. Take Care.

Re: Drawing the Human Eye

Hello glad it was helpful. Well for drawing the basic shape of the eye, you can you the trapezoid shape and from there build on it. Take a look at this picture and youll see that it has the shape of the eye. http://illuminations.nctm.o...

But this would only be the start for you to make an eye out of that you would first have to understand the shape of the eye. Study some photographs in magazines to see how eye shapes differ and how they are the same. This understanding will help tremendously in drawing. That is one of the important rules, know what you are drawing. If you understand what you are drawing, it will show in your work. Lighting is important, this includes shadows and reflections. A small detail such a reflection of light can give your eye drawing so much life and realism. Proportion is also important. Making an eye that is too big or too small takes away from the realism. This last one you will learn with time, the more you understand the eye from studying it, the easier it will be to draw it proportionally. you will be able to see flaws as you draw it and you'll be able to correct it. Well hopefully that was helpful, if not just contact me and ill be glad to answer any other questions you may have, take care.

Re: Drawing Realistic Hair with Pencil Part One

Short Clip on hair technique

Re: ACEO Speed Pencil Male Gorilla Drawing » OnlyPencil Drawing Tutorials

The first song is called "On and Off Again", second "Tomorrow" and last one called "Falling Out Of Love".
