It's still a right foot left foot combination with Bendtner and Vela. Ade and Vp play together beause they are our best available (I believe Eduardo may change this) strikers.

By the way apart from the combinations at the back I feel Diaby can hold the key to how well we do this season. I do think Denilson is a good prospect but he does at this point in time has a tendency to drop his head when things aren't going his way (Fulham springs to mind). Having said that I hope he goes on to prove me wrong because given Diaby's injury record he looks like he will play his fair share of games this season.

Play Djourou! Arsene before it's too late. I can't understand why Arsene refuses to acknowledge the fact that we look dodgy at the back Gallas and Toure are great players but clearly aren't a great partnership. Djourou needs to play because he offers us what we lack (presence in the air of course). I think the player that should be dropped is Kolo I know this is controversial among many who dislike Gallas for various reasons but I think those fans are just being sentimental. Gallas for me, love him or hate him is our best defender therefore it should be a Gallas/Djourou partnership it can't be worse than what's happening now.

Well said having an "experienced pro" to bridge the gap it take some of these youngsters to be ready will keep us right in the mix with big spenders.

I'd prefer if we signed Veloso to be honest. We need a first team CM/DM more than we need another youngster, yeah he probably is an outstanding talent and I'd welcome that but it's all about priorities.

I don't care about Man City and their players are we have problems of our own, which I think is more important than whether or not Robinho is going to succeed. Its clear that we are a bit short, not much but short nonetheless in comparison to the big boys (which doesn't include City just yet). I don't think Arsenal need a big investor, I believe we are a couple of quality players away from being in the same bracket as the usual big spenders around Europe. If for example Arsene, just for one summer, do what Ferguson does most summers and go out there and sign 2/3 quality players lets say for a combined £40/£50M teams wouldn't be able to live with us. Don't tell me we can't afford that either because we can.

By the way does anyone know if there's any truth in the Veloso to Spurs rumour? I would be pissed if they got the player I believe would be the best partner for Cesc.

I agree with some of what you say but you cannot say Flamini can't handle the Prem. He was outstanding last season.

Why don't you want Senderos to leave? He is surplus to requirements at the moment, I can't see a reason for him to stay when there's, Gallas, Toure, Silvestre, Djourou and Song ahead of him. Good riddance.

There is a place for Traore in our squad as a possible backup for the "best LB in the world" Gael Clichy.
He should be ready in time to take Silvestre's place in the squad in the next couple seasons. Add Pedro and Gibbs to that and we look well stocked at LB for years to come. Further proof of how the signing of Silvestre will benefit Arsenal in both the short and long term.

These Arsenal fans that doubt this signing are not thinking clearly because they see him as a Utd reject. I believe this to be a good acquisition as it will provide cover right across or backline, not just in the obvious CB and LB but it will also allow Kolo to cover for Sagna.

These fans who doubts this signing are just reacting to the fact that he's a Man U reject. Silvestre will be a good signing becauce he can come in for anyone of our first choise back 4. We know he can play LB and CB, his abilty to play CB will give us the option to play Kolo at RB if Sagna is unavailable.

Why all the doom and gloom it is an experienced, versatile defender. I'll say one thing to you skeptical gooners out there I would rather call upon Silvestre in an injury crisis than Senderos. Let's just hope we sign a CM and we'll be in good shape going in to the season.

I think you've got it the wrong way round with regards to Clichy being better than Evra going forward and Evra being the better defender. I think Evra only just shades it going forward but Clichy is much better defender. I base this on the quality of opposition he faced last season (including the so-called best player in the world, Ronaldo) and always coming out on top. In contrast Evra had a few problems with tricky wingers, I remember Aaron Lennon giving him the run around last season. Clichy is the best LB in the world at the moment, for me the only competition comes from Cashley Cole not Evra.
