Denninger had a nice point this morning. If the S&P runs up to 1000 you're in for a 13% gain from here. However, if the S&P retests the low you'll lose 33%. Crazy.

Do you expect everything that TPC pens to be brilliant insight? Bloggers like him provide a free resource that allows the rest of us to view into the world of institutional investing. Yardeni is a notorious perma-bull. He hasn't had an original thought during his entire career.

If you'd rather listen to him than the people who have been right you can sign up for his website. I am grateful for people like Mish, Ritholtz, TPC and the others who provide their daily opinion to us for free on a daily basis.

this is a great analysis TPC. Is there any portion of this rally that was due to real fundamental reasons or is the whole thing just short covering and anticipation of government intervention?

It's amazing how well organized the government has been over the last few weeks. Each of these events has kept the sellers at bay. How come they can't seem to manage anything else with such precision?
