I just hope it doesn't get pulled due to copyright issues.

Re: Software thieves get a taste of their own medicine

I agree that piracy is wrong, but stealing software is not just like stealing anything else. Stealing software does not deprive someone of the original software, therefore it is different than stealing physical property.

To continue (since Jeff made me go away and do stuff), when someone steals physical property the person directly affected is the person who posses the property. The original creator is not directly affected. When someone steals intellectual property, the person directly affected is the original creator. The person who "posses" the property is not affected; they can continue as if nothing had been stolen.

Equating stealing physical property with stealing intellectual property does no good to either, except, perhaps, by allowing one to counter both by saying "stealing is wrong". They require completely different legal approaches (largely because of the difference in who is affected), and conflating them only confuses the issues surrounding property management and intellectual property management.

Re: Celebrate diversity!...or not?

It is also the seat of our state governing and, thus actions taken there are much more strongly associated with (and implicitly approved by) the government than those at, say, a state park.

Re: Celebrate diversity!...or not?

Random post to log in upon remembering that I do have an account with this system.

Re: What expert help or advice would you like?

I want someone to help me figure out how to make my job, hair, clothes, home, marriage resemble my style statement. But first I need someone to help me figure out how to find people I can trust to help me make these decisions.

How do you find trusted experts if you do not have any in your extended social networks? If you have any tips, let me know.

Re: Street Hello Love: Please, Join Me In a Revolution People!

This is hard, but I have come to realize that the more I work at it, the easier it gets.

Re: What do you know about love?

I know that love is scary... and it is my way past fear.
