What Corvino did (via 365gay.com) was to openly frame Stanton’s intentional, and professional display of consistent dishonesty -- to legally harm gays -- as a mere disagreement.

Which is exactly how Stanton and the Focus on the Family crowd want their immorally unfair beliefs to be framed.

But that doesn’t make him a fraud. To the contrary, especially if you’ve read Religion Gone Bad, he knows now the serious negative impact that his actions have had, and is trying to make up for it. And he get’s that we’re ultimately just a pawn in their designs for world domination.

Look at it this way, If it weren’t for White’s experience, he not only wouldn’t have the goods on them to give, but there would be no organization called Soulforce.

The unique thing about Soulforce is the contention that one can be faith based/Christian, etc., and be gay. Which -- whether you believe in a god or not -- strikes at the very heart of the anti-gay industry’s premise, that gay and Christian are antithetical. (i.e., their manipulate the masses fundraising premise)

The joy of this WMD is that it’s sincere, these people are actual Christians and/or non-believers, who actually believe in loving their enemies. Which to outside observers, shows the depth of sincerity and integrity of their actions and beliefs.
It’s extremely hard to do, but that’s the whole point that comes across.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by this, as far as I see it, the testimony of the ex-ex-gays isis to put the anti-gay aspect of the ex-gay industry out of business.

Again, these are people of faith, who truly do adhere to the “love they neighbor” “love thy enemy” principle. So it would make sense that they don’t want to be vicious and verbally violent about their cause.

What more would you have them do?

That’s where I see that we come in - to do the “dirty” work of calling these anti-gay liars, liars to their faces.

I went to the Soulforce sponsored ex-gay conference a couple years ago, and many of them have been horribly damaged by what happened to them, the fact that they’re speaking out AT ALL is courageous enough for me.

Maybe I’m not seeing what you’re saying, but I think it’s really important to understand that you can’t just put all ex-ex-gays into one box.

Again, like Mel White, if it wasn’t for the experiences that they went through, that they are testifying to now, we wouldn’t know the inner workings of the anti-gay’s ex-gay-industry. They should be encouraged, not condemned.

If there’s any condemnation, I would say that it should be with those who are not speaking out who could be. And that requires encouraging those who are already speaking out.
