Aren't you a little embarrassed? If you aren't, you should be.... YIKES!

Re: commenter mail

Real-life Ferdinand feeling alienated? I don't believe it! So this old roommate of yours was not a tall, dapper, smooth-talking ladies man? Who was he if he wasn't Stradlater? Ackley - ?!

Fictional Ferdinand is hot -- but also the kind of guy one could never trust as he is clearly obsessed with himself.

In re Literature v. The Internet..... if this were a litigated matter, Literature would be awarded summary judgement before a trial would even surface. There are no facts in dispute: The internet operates independently from literature and vice-versa. It's true that the internet influences certain elements of the literary world, but... what *doesn't* the internet influence? Literature will remain influential with or without the internet. If blogs didn't exist, I think bloggers (the inherently anti-social ones, anyways) would still be doing things other than reading novels. Video games maybe? Dungeons and Dragons?

Re: policy shift

Dog bites are serious! Is your niece okay?!

M - I think you should channel your charismatic defense skills away from dogs and puppies and towards something useful --- ever thought about law school?

Xian - I don't understand what was meant by your "dogs have had a free ride for too long" comment -- ?
