Fighting games were all about the head to head one on one, portables kind of lose something there. Also I cant hook up my expensive fight stick.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/6370892678

Im throwing it in a case like on the original PSP, and putting it in a backpack or a bag and calling it a day. Pocket space is overrated, especially when it comes down to the fact that we have a ton of gadgets we have to carry around already. Phones/Keys/Wallet take up space, space that I dont have for any portable.

Specs are more important than overall size to me. If people are carrying around Ipads nowadays, they can handle a vita.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/6370892678

They built that user base @ 120-150$. You think the same crowd is going to jump to buy themselves, or small children, a 250$ device. that as you said, to take wiggle pics and play mario?

Apparently not, since as of launch sales have dropped around the world. People arent running out to buy the latest "Nintendo". We wont know for sure until Nintendos own software drops, (sadly) but their figures are less then fantastic

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/6370892678

As a man who enjoys his flashy electronic devices, the Vita is all kinds of cool in my book. With the Vita I see a lot of potential, not only in the tech but in the gaming applications. The software could be amazing, and the tech can deliver a lot of whats hot and trending in gaming right now, from touch screen micro games like Fruit Ninja to high profile, triple A online shooters like Modern Warfare 3.

With the 3DS I just don't see that. To me it represents another gimmick with few to little gaming applications. I find the whole current 3D marketing cash grab to be a little more then such, a industry fad thats already on the way out. With 3D movies pulling poor box office numbers and little to no 3D programming to watch with those overpriced 3D tvs, it cant exist for much longer unless demand suddenly rises, and I dont see that happening. That said, the 3D on the 3DS is lackluster. With a portable, I dont like the idea of having to observe a small window of a viewing angle to achieve the 3D effect, any movement, adjustment, or even looking at the top screen ruins the effect, causing eye strain upon having to re-adjust. I find this to be a critical flaw in the systems major selling point.

If you disreguard the 3D, what does the system have to offer when compared to a similarly priced Vita? The only thing your left with on Nintendos side, is Nintendo themselves. And with that said, I'll be passing on the 3DS. I have plenty of great Nintedo IPs on my Wii, that already see's hardly any use, and Nintendos software just isnt a big enough selling point for me anymore to warrant a 250$ price point.

Ultimately the 3DS is more of the same for me. Its a DS with specs and OS upgrades it could have had 2 years ago, it offers a new gimmick, but mostly more of the same. The Vita is everything the PSP should have been, and more. The software is what makes or breaks a product, but with top of the line technology, an aggressive price point and marketing campaign from Sony, an excellent lineup of launch software, the Vita is looking to be an amazing new portable.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/6370892678

Bitching about the size is ridiculous. In the day of 5 in smart phones being as big and heavy as a brick, the PS Vita is just another large electronic device in market swath with the same. Lets not act like the 3DS is some kind of micro portable either, while its not as large, its not a small portable by any means.

Lets move past the age where portables were childrens toys and had to be pocket sized to fit in their skinny jean pockets.

Re: A Cluster Of Phantasy Star Online 2 Screenshots

Why is this not on consoles.

Re: Arcana Heart 3 Breaks Loose On April 19th

So this is still coming out as DLC only in the US? If they're willing to jump into the HD market with re-releases why aren't we seeing this as a full retail HD game :/. (seriously I thought a lot of devs abandoned PSP game production because of the rampant piracy on the system, it has the highest percentage of pirated software this generation...) Nah I dig the PSP, never picked one up, but ill probably snag one at some point.

I just love me some sharp Vanillaware 2D sprite work on my consoles.

Re: The Three Kingdoms In Vanillaware’s Grand Knights History

I would have preferred this for the NGP (Are they seriously still calling it that...frakkin Sony). I liked how they really stepped up the immersion factor within the game, really fleshing out the world that much more. I only played a few minutes, but I quickly noticed things like flocks of flying pokemon flying over town.

So simple, but so effective in making the world that much more real, reminds me of the original cartoon series.

Re: http://tinycartridge.com/post/3748312760

What is that original screen warning against? I expected it to be a lot more powerful and initial reports dont seem that promising, Im sure its gonna be great, just not 300$ great. If Nintendo had gone with the Tegra 2 instead of switching to some japanese company..might be a different story.

Even at 250$ thats a lot of dough for a small portable console that a majority of parents intend on giving to their kids. Having a 10 year old walk around with a 250$ piece of hardware just sounds like a terrible idea.

Also how much are these new games gonna cost. If they start at 40$ count me out.
