@ msmartin, he has to be able to manage world affairs. our economy is (believe it or not) tied to things like warfare in other regions *ahem* and would we all be so hands-off if this were South Africa or Darfur...

I think he should at least express sympathy for the Palestinians. Then again, he don't get paid to do what I think.

He's hedging about this issue. I'm a supporter but he's hedging BIG time. For real, he was flossing his stimulus plan and his Cabinet like it was sliced bread all over...then HUGE HUGE conflicts popped off in Mumbai and then Gaza... and he was all 'We only need one prez at a time.' C'mon, Barry. C'mon.

maybe I wasn't clear enough about addressing the attitudes and entitlements that are hurting black men. I'm not saying that we are excused by any means. I'm saying that a call to true reciprocity is what we need exactly...and more accountability for how we treat women. That women are demanding it should NOT be offensive...but those perceptions are there. Just trying to air them out and explain where some of that resentment may stem from. I'm not trying to perpetuate any ideas of weakness. Quite the opposite really. I'm saying that we'll be perceived as weak if we don't step up and accept the things that are being plainly spoken and live by black women everywhere. Thank you for reading it.

I'm not necessarily a Beyonce endorser either but I think she is great at setting precedents...she's not outside of her realm as a pop culture figure but her messages are in a sense.

I think this Ashley Todd incident is an example of the horrific ripple effect of the past month's race-baiting tactics. The most unfortunate part of it may be how willing many of us were to believe that some innocent woman was the victim of political fervor. When will we finally put the term post-racial to rest and confront our problems?

I think that the path of race baiting has finally come home to roost. We adamantly criticized Jeremiah Wright's views when his comments became public. I think now some are starting to see why a portion of American are cynical about our progress on race. When yet another person can make a false claim specifically based on racial fear, it speaks to how willing we are to indulge in our own bizarre fears.
