It's lazy development, end of story. With a $1k card, you get the hardware you pay for and it can do what is advertised. You pay for a $70 game that claims it's next gen and is optimized, and yet it somehow looks like a game from 10 years ago and can't even properly utilize this top-of-the-line piece of hardware that works fine with everything else. The money itself isn't the issue. It's the value for your dollar.

Re: Todd Howard asked on-air why Bethesda didn't optimise Starfield for PC: 'We did [...] you may need to upgrade your PC'

I hope you're trolling and not just that dumb. He says young people don't have attention spans, but who is he talking about? 8 year olds; kids who wouldn't be watching this anyways? Or is he talking about young adults; the people who made the medium of the long-form podcast explode in popularity? Either way, he's wrong. But you go on and keep posting your old-man-yells-at-cloud.bmp dude, and we'll see how far that gets you. What a moron...

Re: The Witcher producer blames Americans and impatient young people for the Netflix show's simplified plot

Exactly this. You can't blame people hating your show on broader appeal if you literally did the opposite. You alienated your actual audience because you thought your target audience was everyone. Anybody with even the slightest education or even common sense knows that avoiding that pitfall is rule number one of defining your target audience. BUT I GUESS THAT'S JUST EUROPEAN EDUCATION FOR YOU. See what I did there?

Re: The Witcher producer blames Americans and impatient young people for the Netflix show's simplified plot

Americans haven't shown that. His terrible explanation of a lesser-known historical event showed that nobody can follow his stories. He's just blaming it on Americans because it's easy to call Americans dumb to excuse his own lack of self-awareness.

Re: Adventurama | TeeTurtle

Hah. They are very flat, and the edges of the intersecting sprite planes are very noticeable. It makes for a pretty unconvincing bush. I could see how it might be useful as an inexpensive asset to put in the background or as a low detail bush to display while the player is at a distance, but if that's the goal, I don't think that they are being utilized correctly in this case. I realize that pretty much everything is W.I.P., but I don't feel that the bushes reflect the quality of all the other assets that you have in the scene. Please note that I'm trying to give some constructive criticism, so flamers please refrain from flaming.

Re: Overgrowth a155 video changelog - Wolfire Games Blog

Ooo shiny

Re: Atom Zombie Smasher added to Humble Indie Bundle 3! - Wolfire Games Blog

INCEPTION BUNDLE
"We need to go Bundle-er"

Re: Art Asset Overview #16 - Wolfire Games Blog

The shop assets are looking great! First of all, they didn't have to release their editor, and it's quite clear they never intended to, but they decided they would do something nice and release it anyways. And it goes without saying that they're also being extremely generous by joining in this Humble Indie Bundle and allowing people like you to basically scrape their games off of them for next to no money. If I were you, I'd quit my complaining and realize that the world doesn't bow to you.

Re: Linear algebra for game developers ~ part 3 - Wolfire Games Blog

I got lost around the matrices.
