As if, Oxford is immune to the recession? I trust with the financial soundness that Oxford has, we should fare far better than other municipalities in this area. However, this is a big hit for the community.

I disagree, John. JUST by being introduced in a State, means that the measure is at least going to be afforded the opportunity to go to committee and further if passed. Regardless, of its chance of passage.

Now if YOU were to present or introduce a measure it would mean nothing... but when one of our elected officials present that same proposal, guess what it DOES have legs.

I think any $$ that comes into this state could be put to better use than providing it to a group or community that will squander it or it will not serve the betterment of the community.

What is Hobson City going to do when you get a tenth of that amount? Or the agency that is controlling the money decides that any improvements to a dilapidated town like Hobson City are not economically prudent?

They have no tax base to speak of... the town doesn't provide many if any services for its citizens, other than being a drain on its already limited resources.

I think its a great idea! I think everything should be reviewed for its merits and abilities to cater to a specific race.

We should look into having race-specific restaurants, water fountains, mass transportation, schools, etc...
