btw, real companies get the financing they need, and thus the liquidity to maintain ongoing operations (and gee, even hire people), then, watch the mkt stabilize. I say it happens this week, maybe even monday.

Great article on feds and commercial paper. Did you also see the article where the banks are planning to use the bailout money for dividends and pay raises ? I say, screw the banks, these CDO's are just like 10% margin back in the 20's (just another unregulated way to manipulate the mkt, till all the musical chairs are gone. The govt needs to lend directly to corporations and individuals (wouldn't you rather be first in line for inflated dollars ?). Just fired most of my bankers, one in particular for acting like he was doing me a favor by hiking my rates and even giving me any money. I reminded him that he was loaning me tax my tax dollars and closed my account (and told him I hoped his arrogant arse ended out on the street).

hopefully, we find/hit support and bounce and get a lil reprieve. As your article noted, commerce and thus economy has not died, trust in the system (aka the trillions sitting on sidelines w/fund mgrs) should soon be tempted beyond that which it can bear (aka greed).

Actually, good article, per above.... we are actually in more of a crisis of confidence than anything else... which paradoxically puts the existance of our own gov't at risk.... bout time we had some political accountability..... anyone else noticing the fear in the politicians eyes ? nice to have em working for us again....

How are ya man ?... might I recommend straddles, shorting the box (index or stock, take your pick) or married puts....that's what I'm doing.. like playing poker, stay hedged till they show their hand in a big move (news, rate cut, whatever....) then smack em... make em come to ya bud...
