I really like visuals and colors to be inviting and moody opposed to dark and boring.

Regardless of the setting, in order for me to keep logging into a game, year after year, I have to enjoy the world, and I have to like looking at it. World of Warcraft does this for me - Even the dark and evil stuff is still visually appealing with a ton of character. It's a world I don't mind spending large amounts of time in.

An example of what I dislike could be Hellgate. It's not a bad game, but I don't want to spend my time in that ugly depressing world. It's just not fun to look at.
