I watched Scorsese Shutter Island now I'am ready for a second viewing too...
...I would say that your review of the film Shutter Island just about sums up my feeling about the film too.

Being a film noir fanatic...and with this man (Welles') sometimes given the credit for making the film (A Touch of Evil) that ended that classic film noir period. I'am quite sure that this is music to every (Orson) Welles' fan ears.

Being a film noir fanatic...and this man (Welles') among us film noir fans...is sometimes giving credit or being responsible for bringing that period to an end with his ground-breaking film...Touch of Evil.

What a very well-written, detailed, an interesting review of Scorsese's Shutter Island...the following quote alone have piqued my curiosity in the film.

"If “Inglourious Basterds” was Tarantino’s love letter to cinema, “Shutter Island” is Martin Scorsese’s. It’s packed with all the classic elements of the noir, suspense and procedural pictures of Scorsese’s youth. Even the film’s climax recalls the famous bell tower scene in “Vertigo...”

Therefore, I plan to view this film in the very near future and hopeful return and leave a comment about Scorsese's ("Hitchcock's suspense and neo noir inspired") film... Shutter Island.

I can tell from just watching the trailer that this was going to be a 2 star(s) film. By the way, my friend and fellow blogger Sam Juliano, his wife, and their best friend met actor Alec Baldwin at a
university diner recently. Even with a two star rating, your "honest" review and a trailer that didn't send me "running" to the theatre I may still seek it out to watch on DVD.
