I was very intrigued by this article, having seen many, many of his gifs as a child. I had no idea so many of them could be traced back to the same person. Your father seemed like a very nice, passionate, and interesting man :D

It is wonderful that you are keeping his site intact as well, as preservation is still not exactly the strongest priority with the internet and/or digital art/media in general.

It's a shame the micro flopped as bad as it did. The only people I know that have one are other chip musicians who use a very specific gba music program. They are kind of coveted amongst us, so I guess they found some sort of home. :)

They are based in NYC and are pretty great. The song in the trailer is "Years (Five - Eight)".

Also: yeah whoever is in charge of the music in the UK skins does a really fantastic job. Usually teen related shows have either cornball royalty free music or really terrible top 40 stuff that sharply reduces their potential shelf lives, but skins seems to be able to side step that common weakness pretty well.

I am kind of torn because I do feel like this Skins is going to be kind of wack, but I can't help but be excited because they used a friend of mine's music in the internet only trailer (the first one that plays in that embed). So like, I hope it turns out well I guess?!

Yeah I knew it was about Yoko, but I was trying my damnedest to separate the song from the real life story and just describe the way I feel about it every time it comes on. I also kind of wanted to see if I could write about the Beatles without going OH GOD JOHN LENNON AAAAHHHH, for like 6 paragraphs . :D

I had no idea it was the last song they recorded together though, thats pretty awesome. Kind of makes sense, it is so removed stylistically from the rest of their songs.

I reposted this on my blog with my own comments but I always forget that thats not a very effective way to communicate with the original poster (though it is quick and more fun) Anywho this is what I wrote, I figured you might appreciate it a tiny bit:

This is probably my favorite scene from this movie. I love the fact that it’s just one long, lingering still shot of Christina Ricci’s face while Vincent Gallo gives her the rundown of the rest of both of their day. You really don’t see these types of shots in other movies. Any other director would have tried to make this scene very tense with lots of close ups and jump cuts, but Gallo makes the brilliant decision (intentional or no) to stick the camera right on Ricci’s cute little (big) noggin. The fact that it lingers on her face so long allows you to soak in so much of her emotion and the beauty of her character with little to no dialog from her. So many small details are captured. The kind of nervous way she shakes her head, her completely arresting stare, the way she starts to crack a very tiny smile as she begins to like the plan (and maybe him) ever so slightly, etc…

Damn I love this movie.

Yeah I know enough from experience, you can never get a black woman (especially one as FIERCE as Vanessa Williams) to do anything silly like that if they spent all that time getting their hair did and putting on a sexy dress. SRS BIZNESS.

Sweet Home is the precursor to Biohazard (aka Resident Evil). Lot of the same conventions from the first Resident Evil game are present in Sweet Home.
