But we should be hard on some of these developers and continue to do so, since most of the original edicts were made as predatory business tactics in disregard of practical realities, and not for the purpose of improving the quality of their product. And certainly not with consideration to the experience nor desires of their customers. (EA with SimCity and Microsoft with the Xbox One being the most stark examples here.) In these cases decisions were made in boardrooms that were based on strategies aimed at attempts solely to maximize profits, strategies which often prove unrealistic in actual implementation. (This is hardly unique to the gaming industry, of course.) Big companies with leadership generally isolated from the customers that buy and use their products often forget that the bottom line depends greatly on having a product that is excellent in the eyes of the consumer as well as happy, satisfied customers that will be repeat buyers and enthusiastic recommenders. So it is vitally important that we continually remind them of this. Mocking such follies and keeping them alive as cautionary tales is worthwhile.

M'lady, you MUST stop judging dishes based on takeaway orders. You do so all too often, and sometimes with dishes that don't resemble their own selves after being stuffed into a container and driven blocks away from their origin. Takeaway orders are more akin to leftovers than a freshly prepared and served meal, no matter how good the food is. Yes, many foods make for great leftovers, some benefitting from the shelf time, but if you are not sampling a meal at its point if creation you are skipping its primary incarnation and are only equipped for providing a starkly incomplete review if its actuality. Letting us know how the meal travelled and aged is a fine addition to a food review, but don't skip a meal's shining moment and then tell us that you have given it a full and proper analysis. Stop the madness! ;-)>

No, only use the 7" for occasionally looking things up on the web while mobile. (Yes, 7" tablets ARE "tweeners".) But a 7" tablet will fit in my back pocket so that it is handy while on the move. For all its other capabilities, my beloved iPad *won't* fit in my pocket, and I rarely carry any case or bag to accommodate it. (Sadly, all the mock-ups of the 'iPad mini' that I've seen make it appear too wide to fit in a pocket either though.)

Hmmm... I was thinking that the Nexus 7 might be just the thing to replace the clunky Galaxy Tab 7" that is usually in my back pocket, but no 3G and a 1200AED price tag will kick it out of the running, I think. Oh well, maybe Apple *will* reveal an 'iPad mini' later this year! ;-)>

Understandable. Driving in Dubai is not an endeavor to be taken lightly! I'm enjoying milder traffic, having moved to Fujairah!
Fortunately, public transportation is pretty good in Dubai, if not terribly well documented. You can get along very well that way, especially with the Metro Green Line now open!

Yes, that is the issue, but you went with the headline, "Mac users getting infected by malware" and not "Mac users falling for common scam". But I can see how you might have been attempting to help disabuse such Mac users of their false sense of invulnerability with a handy bit of hysteria. ;-)

(And yes, I already had anti-virus software on my Macs, because it can't be taken for granted.)
