Wow, this website is so search engine optimized. Thanks for allowing me to trawl through several paragraphs of Acer's company history and the description of what a BIOS is. It's not like I can't find that information on Wikipedia or anything if I were truly interested in that.

Anyway, thanks for including BIOS flashing instructions that are non-Windows as well. That was actually a great help for me as I don't run Windows.

Looks useful! Also it's a funny irony that duf is also the Dutch word for "dull", when in fact it turns the output into somethingless dull.

Very nice. Every time I try it on my Surface Pro, one or two things seem to be no longer broken. Hopefully it'll be in a fully usable state for me on that system soon. 😃

I could've sworn Gparted has long been in the 2.x version range... I certainly remember Gparted being available as gparted2 in the Ubuntu repos a few years ago. Or is that just some weird Ubuntu package versioning thing?

The Switch has lasted almost 5 and surprise surprise, it's still doing fine.

Computers have reached this cap where you generally don't have to worry that much anymore about how much performance you need in order to be able to play games. You very likely will be.

Stop. Measuring. Performance. In. Teraflops.

There are so many more metrics to performance in hardware. We stopped measuring performance in Ghz quite a while ago, when that reached its roof, so consider doing the same for TFLOPS.

Alright, I'm super convinced Sampler Feedback Streaming is just trolling everyone here because it's very obvious they have no clue what they are talking about, what Microsoft's business strategy is regarding Linux, and just how broadly Microsoft's software, support and services reach across both regular consumers and businesses alike.

In practice, the difference in performance between OSes will be marginal and inconsistent across titles. But the handheld allows you to install anything, so that's nice.

On the compatibility side, I can say a lot of games will be compatible. Linux gamers get to have Proton these days, which is like an enhanced, lower-hassle Wine, which in my experience works quite well with about 90% of the games in my library. And a lot of those aren't even officially supported; I just enabled Proton for everything.

I expect that if this console does well (signs so far seem to be pointing to yes), developers will kind of follow suit with the support.

Imagine getting a Switch, but instead it's a pocket-sized PC that you can also run games decently well with. This is what I'm expecting from the system and it will be great to bring with me (both around the house and other places) for both gaming and programming.

Well, it looks like Valve's lessons learned from their previous forays into hardware design have been quite big lessons learned.

I expect this to run as well as you can expect from mobile hardware. The fact that they're doing their best to make this performant, much more open than your usual console AND dockable like the Switch, makes this a winner in my eyes.

Some good basic hints here. Also one thing I found out about the emotion wheel is that the "hot" response is not you being like "you're hot" but it's more like "fired up", so use it when you want to seem excited about something. Conversely, the "love" response also isn't like "I'd love that" but much more relating to being passionate. It's a little confusing.

I'd love a guide about the meanings of the quest riddles. The game gives them to you gradually but I'm stuck with some really early quests that I just can't figure out. What is "change of heart"?

Also... I thought this game wasn't just based on old games, it IS old, right? Just a remake.
