This has legs. If someone is checked off on the voter list and they don't live at the address on that list; and there was no "accounting" for another address within the voting district for that voter, that vote should be thrown out.

Why no mention of 40B reg's? If a community has less than 10% "affordable" housing, developers can pretty much ignore local zoning. When 40B housing is actually built, the "new workers" which you cite as a concern here often make more than the 80% of the median income of the area that would qualify them for such housing. How much of our housing stock is 40B?

And how much is Section 8?

The state should focus more on "middle class housing" if it really wants to retain these jobs and workers, as opposed to encouraging more housing for those who can't or won't fill the jobs being bemoaned here.

Just to state the obvious: you in the opposition are up against it, aren’t you? I’m going to go out on a limb here: the proponents are, in some fashion, tax payer funded. The opposition is flying by the seats of its pants – but it's got the passion, deep respect for property rights, and love of freedom of choice on its side!

Right.

We see it everywhere. The “betters amongst us” come up with something (usually smacking of nannyism) that they deign superior to an existing situation. Some government entity provides funding, and (yet another) consultant is hired to do a study. The study then comes with the pre-ordained, predetermined conclusion of (you guessed it) the people who wanted it in the first place.

And YOU paid for it!

I may attend, not only to see SB et al, but also to verify that such a thing as the Salem Republican City Committee actually exists! Who knew! I got the invite via email, pretty interesting.

Salem isn't such an unusual choice, either. When SB did a fund raiser at the Lyceum, before the special election, it was SRO, absolutely slammed. And yes - of course, there were loads of outta townahs there. Loved it. Nothing like being surrounded by like minded folk, on an island of sanity, in a sea of moonbats. ;->

And, for the record, many in the TP movement are quite disenchanted with Brown. Then again, most of those who've turned probably don't live in PRMA, either. We in PRMA are probably more pragmatic!

Most excellent points. We are posting to an anonymous audience!

While some people are comfortable with that, and their livelihoods may even require that - many (most?) of us average citizens may be leery of the one nut job, or boss, or [fill in the blank] that (to understate it) doesn't have our best interests at heart.

I peruse Alexa a lot, and often the What's Hot tab; but it never occurred to me to use it to monitor the SEN. Excellent!

Am thinking the "Traffic Stats" area will tell the tale. Pageviews are there, fun!

Exactly.

As previously stated, I don't think the mayor had a thing to do with any of this - but it's not a stretch for some to come to that conclusion; or the alternative, that a Driscoll lapdog on the SEN staff was involved.

Again, perception is reality for many.
