Before you continued with your evaluation of Social Security, let me give you a re-run of my ‘discussion’ with lindaclark(I edited the comment to fit here). I’m unable to locate your other comment to me, but I suggest you read our entire ‘discussion’ before you conclude. Essentially, I asked her to back up her assertion. As for being abusive, I merely commented that when one fails to accept views that are different, one tends to sling mud, name calling, etc. As far as calling me a liberal as though as it is an insult, thank you; I always tried to listen to views that are different than my own, but I will respond in kind when I considered appropriate.

Medicare and Social Security has issues but it is far from failure; it performed as designed, that is, it is a safety net for the retired and disabled.

Now let me give you a little of history of Social Security.

The design of Social Security Retirement enacted by FDR back in 1935 was to supplement workers lost of income due to retirement. The thing to pay attention was ‘supplement;’ it’s set to supplement 20% - 30% of a workers lost earning due to retirement. Higher earners at the 20%+ range and 30% at the lower earner range.

Since your father was born in 1925 (age 84), his Social Security Retirement was grossly inflated due to the failure or unanticipated COLA increase during decades prior to his retirement. During the Regan years you so loved, Congressman Pickle enacted legislation that ‘uncoupled’ the COLA for Social Security computations, hence, the “Pickle Amendment” delayed the fiscal issue for approximately thirty years and coming due 2005 – 2020 depending who you believed.

In your father’s case, if he actually paid maximum Social Security Wages from 1951 to year of retirement, he probably received as high as 40%-45% of his retirement earnings. This is because his benefits were calculated prior to the change in computation. The system was not designed for such grossly inflated benefit resulting in financial deficit. This is not to mention the 7 to 1 ratio then, versus 3 to 1 now. ….

First, let me summarized your personal belief-

What was a crime yesterday is not a crime today, because today is not yesterday.
Condemn the group for the action of a few.
Yours is the only religion.
Different rules for different folks.

You obviously failed to comprehend, let me repeat- “Your condemnation of an individual or a group of individuals through no fault or control of their own is bigotry. You’re condemning the people of the Muslim faith for the action of a few, and that is the very definition of bigotry.”

Religious tolerance appears to escape you. If you condemn ‘all Muslims for the act of a few, I say that is bigotry.” You alleged their religion is ‘evil’ then obviously you forgotten the Christian Crusades. Originality is not necessary, response to bigotry will always be the same, and it will be repeated over and over. You are the representative of that religious bigotry, and intolerance of any religion that disagree with your own. Let me repeat again another comment, you obviously believed you have the only key to the Kingdom, thus, your show of disdain for any view that is different than your own. You do not discuss, you yell, you name called and that blinds you to any view you disagree with.

You disagree with the President because he didn’t pick a church fast enough for your taste? What are you? You sidestep the issues with religious hate and any thing else you can think of.

You lack the intelligence and maturity to recognize not to apply your set of rules to judge cultures different than your own. Be accountable, accept you for what you are. You need to accept your bigotry and recognize the ignorance of judging others with your own yardstick.
