It's interesting that so many of the things I find vile about current news reporting must have been happening for so long, and in exactly the same way, given the subject matter of this movie. Its also interesting how Christine Chubbuck's actions have informed me that my current feelings are not unique, or timely. It's most interesting to me though that if this woman's actions can't change that, then it seems nothing will. Except ignoring the sources, I guess?

Will definitely be checking this one out to think more on this.

Yay, the Internet can make people happy! I knew it!! :)

Matt Ferguson is probably my favourite artist in this realm at present. Was lucky enough to get the Star Wars, Indy and LOTR sets he did previously, which are currently hanging on the wall. Missed out on the Guardians of the Galaxy, and this one though. Although, I probably don't have anywhere to hang them either if I'm being realistic. Damn physics and its laws of space.

Well worth keeping an eye out for his work to be available though.

Definitely one of my favourite official posters I've seen in a while. Amongst all the bland airbrushed stuff you see at the cinema nowadays, it seems fan art has become the go to. Speaking of which, Matt Ferguson made this incredible one for Stranger Things too. I really wish I had managed to purchase it in time.

This is a wonderful article, so good to hear about her world now and her memories of such an amazing movie. Do you think it could become a semi-regular thing where you could maybe try and catch up with some other childhood favourite actors to see what's happening in their world now, and what they remember from movie they were in?

Im thinking actors from: The Goonies, Dark Crystal, E.T., Flight of the Navigator, The Last Starfighter, The Wizard, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Explorers, Weird Science ... Ok, wow, I think you can tell what type of movie I loved growing up!

I started by looking for a shot from There Will Be Blood because I feel that flick has 10 or 15 of the most layered, perfectly composed, deep thinking and incredible shots ever put to film. Then I thought "Who am I kidding, I know what I have to do..."

And so I give you the still frame that makes me feel like a boy again, going on an adventure with some of his best mates. Every, single, time I see it. And will until the day I die. For me, it's perfect.

Thanks for all your work here Germain. The thing I admire the most about your writing is the open admittance of your bias. It makes it so that over time I can associate my own bias to yours and get a clear picture of how I will see a movie, or "thing", in comparison to you. It's a rare quality on Internet posts to so openly admit that and its the thing I have loved the most, and now, will miss the most from your /Film presence.

Also, I must say thanks for putting me onto Mondo/Bottleneck/Laurent Durieux/Andy Fairhurst et al. My wife may hate the prints I have in the lounge, but I love them!

Something else to consider is the local middle man. The guy who runs the store to sell the DVD's and Blu-Rays & the regional distributor in another country who should receive money from the people of that country, to keep local countrymen employed. If you download a pirated copy and keep it forever on your Plex server (or even use iTunes/PS Store/Netflix), you will never use the local services, which you should to keep your local economies going. Even just paying HBO a subscription from another country is really no good. HBO will survive without a few extra international subscribers. If we all lived in America then sure it might not matter, but we don't, and providing money to local contractors for installing services like cable & local shops for supplying DVD's and Blu Rays is increasingly more important due to rampant digital copying/streaming and piracy. It also leads to less investment for TV and Movies in other countries as there is less return and you need such a big hit to profit nowadays (see Transformers, Twilight splitting the last movie in two, Marvel sequels, cinematic universes, etc).

I understand the need to watch these shows in real-time and be a part of the conversation (something the international business world has not caught up with at all) but you really should pay for it in your local regions when you get the chance.

Think of how many jobs are gone due to book stores, video hiring stores, local cinema's and media distributors closing their doors. That's all due to digital piracy and online access being so easy.

Me too, Star Wars in the living room and LOTR in the study. Just ordered the Hobbit one too, but have no idea where I will put it! I love the way he captures the feeling of space (as in 3 dimensions) with a subtle character hint too. Love his work.
