Kai must be taking in a lot in. Still, any chance at regaining a life without pain must be worth the risk to him. He seems to have wrapped up his identity with this pain.

I can only imagine how difficult Kalla has been as a student. It's interesting that even before asking Kalla to go back to studying, the mentor/teacher states that his responsibility for Kalla's education was in the past. I wonder what lead up to all of this...

Wow...that "No One Important" sounds awfully dismissive. I get the feeling Both Kai and Kalla are probably tired of being told how to feel/what to do. Is it even possible to keep Kalla's ego in check?

Haha, I feel like the word "giving" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here.

This has the distinct feeling of a teenager "running away" because "adults..like..don't understand my struggle". Every page makes me want to learn more about the lore.

The expressions here have me laughing so hard, especially as Kalla just twists her head around Kai! She's like an eager puppy.

That's an interesting detail. I wonder what Kai means about things getting *more* cursed. Also, this makes me wonder...as a spirit, how invulnerable is Kalla?

As always, the beautiful details of the background really make this feel like some sort of otherworld temple or palace.

Now...I wonder if Kalla has an ulterior motive for rushing them out of there so quickly. Does Kalla report to or is overseen by any spirit?

I'm guessing the feather is possibly some sort of..ceremonial token of their arrival? Hmm.
Once again, I am mesmerized by not just the look...but the FEEL of this realm and the library. It feels steeped in lore, yet also ethereal.
I'm eager to see what Kalla sees as "useful".

Interesting. I know he mentions it on page 32, but it makes me wonder more about why Kai is hurting and continuing to hurt. At the heart of his resentment seems to be some sort of physical and emotional pain. It must have been bad as he looks amazed to be partly free of it.

It should be noted that Izzy did not fly down there to join the fight or to go on the attack, but to save those they are charged with protecting. She could have used this opportunity to fight, but instead prioritized the safety of others. I'm sure Cecile won't be happy about her actions, but I hope Cecile recognizes that Izzy's intent was for the preservation of life.

I'm sorry to see this go on indefinite hiatus, but I really enjoyed the story and appreciate that you would finish the chapter. Your work was intricately woven with intriguing characters and a dynamic artstyle. It's the mark of a good story, when I say that I'll regret not knowing how it plays out. You hooked us all on this narrative. In one form or another, I hope to see your work in the future.
