Ironic how the Village and Barnell are involved once again. Both are known gang areas and have been for the last 15 years, yet for some reason nothing has been done about it.

They don't advertise and then make-up BS about how citizens won't do the work. Also, if they advertised to citizens thy'd have to hire a supervisor who actually spoke english, and that would cost them more money. I would have happily picked grapes for $8 an hour when I was unemployed a year ago, if only I knew that they would hire a non-spanish speaker.

How about MHPD quit paying officers overtime to show up at court appearences, especially traffic court? Officers are more likely to give unfair/BS tickets knowing that people will fight them in court, thus allowing the officer to earn easy overtime...Please allow my comment MH Times, I'm sick of being censored!

Are government officials above the law? If anybody has a question of wrong doing they are within their rights to hire a private investigator. Will this "surveillance subcommittee" be investigating normal people who are being investigated, or was it solely for the purpose of discrediting a political foe?...Damn his teeth are yellow!

If you live anywhere near a major road you might as well be smoking a pack of cigarettes a day; and if you live near a freeway bump it up to 2 packs a day because that's the effects of automobile exhaust. Stop your self-rightous crusade and look at some facts. There are less people smoking now then ever and cancer rates are higher than ever; are cigarettes really the problem?

I was in traffic court and 8 illegal immigrants (they admitted in court to not being citizens and used it as their reason for not having a license or insurance, I'm not being racist) who were there for citations for no licenses or insurance recieved their tickets from the judge and then proceeded to leave the courthouse and get into cars and drive away. Their cars were obviously not impounded when they recieved the initial citation so more than likely these unlicensed drivers simply got a ticket and drove away.

Either a Winchester, Colt, or Henry would be my guess; all very cool rifles. I like the older stuff too. I should have known since I don't believe there are many (if any) guns with 20 round magazines.

Yes he broke the law in numerous ways: having a loaded firearm in his car, discharging that firearm in public, and not using the firearm in a defensive manner (since he was able to get to his car safely he should have just drove off). There are many laws in this state that are ridiculous, which is one reason the rest of the country thinks Californians are idiots.

Shouldn't be telling people you have a 20 round magazine, since that is illegal in this state. Also I would replace the buckshot and upgrade to hollowpoint slugs for the 12 gauge. :-)

has to be out-of-reach while driving, without the magazine in it, no bullet in the chamber, otherwise it is legal to have it in your car. If he had a ccw permit all three would have more than likely been shot dead on the spot and the problem would have been solved.

Sadly the victim in this case will be charged, and since only the one 13 year old was caught the victim will be subject to stiffer penalties than the minor who was already released to his parent(s). Since he (the victim) had to go to his car to retrieve the weapon the threat could be percieved as already being over, and in california you are only allowed to fire at somebody if their is a direct threat to your safety. The 13 year old's mother could also sue the victim because in California criminals and illegals have more rights than law-abiding citizens.

Mr. Gage, you should also address the USGS's classification of the soil holding the current earthen dam in place, which is highly prone to liquefaction. The dam would collapse more than 25ft if all the soil around it basically caved in and slid down to the valley below. Also it would be helpful to tell residents in the area exactly what path the water would take if a dam rupture were to happen.

Remember, Valdez "intentionally" got his gun to jam prior to the incident because he is some type of genius when it comes to fire-arm ballistics and gas loading weapons. He properly calculated (using mathmatic formulas way too complicated for the average person) that when the gun was aimed at the cop's head at the perfect angle, with the perfect amount of windage, during the harvest moon, and not during a leap year that it would jam just as planned; therefore allowing the suicide-by-cop just as he had planned.
