Where's the verification, Jeff? Proper reporting would demand a call to James Payne and one to the supermarket manager, if not visits to them. If there was indeed an attempt to burn a flag, evidence of the gasoline (dead grass, for instance) might be on the premises, and the allegedly stolen signs might've still been in the store's Dumpster.

Jeff, did you consider that Mr. Jones might've fabricated this story to make Democrats/liberals look bad, which he loves to do, or did you assume he's telling the truth because he, like you, is a Republican?

I called no one a liar. I suggested to the esteemed Free Lance reporter that a bit of investigation is warranted in a story like this rather than merely taking the word of a source whose verbal attacks on liberals and Democrats are well-known.

I believe the view is to the west on Tres Pinos Road from just east of Airline Highway. It was made with a very long lens — in the 600-800-millimeter range, I'd guess — so the depth is quite distorted.

It would be preferable from a journalistic standpoint for this video to have captions, or commentary from the vehicle's driver regarding intersections and other landmarks. I couldn't tell until the end if the route is to the north or south, and the increased video speed makes identifying locations more difficult.

Bob's a damned good cop and a very funny guy. He and Capt. Rick Vasquez should do a stand-up bit together. Seriously, these guys are a scream when they get rolling.
