Your definition of "best" needs some work. You can't be the best if you've been bested before. Perfect Record = Best. Losses on your record = Not quite the best or not the best all the time.

If I'm going to call someone the best they need to always be the best man in the ring.

Re: 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

Steve is a great guy and has been one of the best mentors on wealth and personal development for me and my career. But if you gain 12,000 backlinks over 48 hours that's definitely going to raise lots of red flags.

I've learned recently that less is more.

Re: Can Too Many Backlinks Get Your Site Punished by Google?

Well you didn't have to even watch the video to find that out. I guess since I'm on the east coast that means most of my followers miss me by time they're on.

Time to get my twitter stream poppin' in the PM too. Good stuff John.

Re: Entrepreneur Business / Social Media Time Wasters

Chris you are the man. As a business owner it's easy to "do what you want" but this isn't always what needs to be done. That story about your friend who just had to constantly update his site resonates with me because as a designer I know the feeling. It took awhile before I could actually look at my site and say it's complete. For the longest I was using the design as a reason to not add a drop of content. It just had to be perfect.

Thanks for the eye-opener. Sometimes you need a good kick in the ass to set you straight and get you moving forward.

Re: The SMART’er Way to Successfully Achieve Your Goals

Absolutely. I try to make sure that I have my entire goal stated clearly in my notebook for I enter it into my my Google Calendar.

I also make sure to read it multiple times a day.

What are some ways you like to "punish" yourself when you slip past a deadline or two?

Re: 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

Thanks Stranger,

Sorry it took me a little while to reply but you're 100% correct. Being a wage slave leads you nowhere and all you are left with are the pipe dreams of what used to be the American Dream. Gone are the days where SSI and 401K checks would carry your ass through retirement. You have to become your own retirement plan now.

Re: 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

That's one of my favorites... and yes it is unfortunately too true. Layoffs
are at an all time high and people aren't adjusting well. 600,000 new jobs
sounds good and all but millions have been lost so people still need to step
up and "Create" a living opposed to "Earning" one.

Re: 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

I'm glad you to hear that... not the part about being out of money but that you are pushing the entrepreneurial envelope. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that not having a job is the same as not working. In order to earn money it takes work and a lot of it.

Re: Did Twitter Just Kill #followfriday?

I don't like this. I've made a lot of my connections on twitter by following half-conversations. If I'm understanding correctly this eliminates the ability to help a friends friend out when you might have something useful to share because you can't see them.

I think Twitter is pulling a Facebook. They're getting too big too fast and forgetting what made them great.

Bring Back The Half-Conversation.

Re: Mozilla and Opera Complain About Windows 7

"I bet that if it wasn't Microsoft doing this, nobody would've said anything."

Preach!

Re: Mozilla and Opera Complain About Windows 7

That's not true. As a web developer I do have contempt for Internet Explorer's lack of WC3 Standards Compliance but aside from that, they're success is their biggest weakness. Vista got trashed hard all across the board before people got to even use it. MAC did a good job leading that movement. But as you see the Mohave Experiment worked beautifully. It showed just how "me too" society is.

I agree with Justin that this is more nit-picking from competitors scared they'll lose a little market share. To be honest MS Vista is an excellent OS and I'm considering upgrading to Win 7 but not sure how that compares to the Vista Ultimate I'm currently running.

And yes MS can package their browser with their OS for as long as they'd like. It takes less that 2mins to switch back to your original browser and anyone who is not using IE is probably savvy enough to switch back to FF or Opera if they want to.

Re: How an Interview with Darren Rowse of Problogger Changed Everything

Precisely. All too often we look at the success of other businesses, entrepreneurs, websites etc. and try to imitate what they are doing now, but leave out what they did to get to that point.
